Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is comprehensive, but is slightly outdated . Needs to be more focus of things currently thought in the industry and practicality ( aws is a new subject introduced but they teach it as a theory subject when it is so evidently a lab subject). 3 exams 3 assignments cat 1 cat 2 - 15 marks , fat - 40 marks da/ quiz-3x 10 marks

Placement Experience

3

4th year (7th sem). Usually around 700 compaines come to campuses. Around 9-10 thousand offers are given out. Average package is around 9 lpa and highest is around 1 cr pa. About 95% placement is claimed by vit

Range of categories for tution fees-> cat 1 to cat 5 Cat 1 -1.9 lakh per annum Cat 2- 3 lakh per annum Cat 3-4 lakh per annum Cat 4-4.5 lakh per annum Cat 5- 4.9 lakh per annum Your category of fee is the base registration fee to be paid to block a seat

Campus Life

4

The fests are rivera (cultural fest) and gravitas (technical fest). Rivera is held around February, gravitas is held around September/oct. A wide range of books is available in campus. For classrooms, we have plenty of desks , whiteboard and projectors. There are a huge number of student run clubs , which are one of the main attractions here at vit

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels have 1,2 ,3 ,4 ,6 ,8 ac and non ac rooms spread across a variety of hostel blocks (around 22 blocks). Quality of the room id average to bad (very small rooms). The registration process for each year depends on chpa. Based of this hostel counselling occurs. The mess food in most messes on campus is average

Admission

This is the highest ranked college in terms of nirf i got into . It so happened to be the biggest name. I got in into other colleges like srm , kalinga , pes etc. Got rejected by manipal bits etc because i didn't score high enough for a cs seat in main campuses. Admission process is through viteee. Based on rank from that exam you get a seat via couselling

Faculty

3

Each class has an average of 1-70 faculty student ratio. There is a mixed bag of faculties in this college. Some are good , approachable and actually help you learn. Some only care that you abide by their rules (write the answers their way etc)

Night Life

2

For men , the closing time for gate is at 9 pm. Gym/ cafeterias close at 8 pm. Hostel in timings is also around 9 pm for men. After 09 pm , the library is open upto 12 am for women and upto 12:30 am for men. Women are provided buses to get to hostel after night library

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
