Course Curriculum Overview

3

The Curriculum is very vast and i hope it is filtered. But the new admission hqs got a very new curriculym with more in person experience courses, which is better in my opinion. I do wish that some courses are changed or added to ours too including AI as it is of rising inpprtance in all sectors. The schedule is very hectic so it could be tweaked a bit to accomadate some relax time for the students.Other than that i belive that the scheduling and curriculum is good. The frequency of examination is okay...but the mark system is very complex. So good marks has to acheieved in almost all the semesters so that a good OGPA can be recueved.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are number of internships provided by tge college. Even though im unaware of all the names of the internships, there are several bank internships provided directly by the the banks, for the 4th year students. Also there are interships to do when studying Masters that offer stipends upto 20,000 or more.

Fees and Financial Aid

My college provides a fee structure that is rather moderately expensive for a college claiming to be Government operated. One semester asks for about 10k for day scholars and around 17k or 20k for hostelers. Even though the services provided is good, this is quite on the expensive side for a government college. This alone is tge tuition fees. We also had to pay 50,000 at the beginning of the first year. Unnecessarily we also have to pay the computer centre fees even though no one uses it. We do pay on the go for every prints we take. There are several scholarships provided by government and private companies, but most of them only applies to the minority and reserved categories. Reservation categories also get a reduction in fees upto 681, which for the most part is very less than the other students.

Campus Life

4

The college holds plenty of festivals and celebrations. All of them are done after classes. Every holiday or small achievements are celebrated. From freshers to graduation all programmes are well done by the students itself and also funded by them. Even i hostels there is celebration atleast once a month held by each year students. About the library, it provides all books a person can need. If any book is requested they are sought after. It is one of the biggest library in Kerala. Two libraries are present- a college one and the central library which is huge. The class facilities are good and the academic cell does everything to ensure the comfortability of kids. Proper lighting, air conditiong, and fans are presnst in classes. The arts and sports events are huge deal here. It helps all students, even shy ones to come out their shells and showcase their talents. There is no partuality and equality is imposed. It promotes healthy competition, and sportsmanship. The college also has Clubs like computer clubs, language club, music clubs etc.which also help the students find their circle.

Admission

The admission was through Neet . I had hoped to be a doctor. But as the marks wasn't sufficient, I chose agriculture. I only applied for two colleges, this one and College of Agriculture in Vellayni, Trivandrum. I hoped and did chose this college as it is in my hometown so i would'nt have to stay in hostel. It is also the best college for this course in Kerala. The Arts of Kerala Agricultural University is held here. And the landscape is beautiful and vast which also provides enough resources and infrastructure for this course. Students can also get admission through ICAR examination. The cut off changes for each reservation and each year according to the number of students and also the highest marks.

Faculty

4

The faculty members are very reputable and well trauned un their area. They privide all the support and help that a student requires to achieve heights in education. All of the other departments in the college provides their best for a student. Even though the connections take time to build the help is constant.

Night Life

3

The night life is very good and since the landscape is very beautuful it is very calming. There is a gym presnst 24/7 that provides adquate equipments for working out. The cafeterias open at 10 and close at 4 . They provide healthy foods and snacks and also packaged foods too. It also provides stationery for the students. The libarary is open even at night but only the central library. Public area is open to all, but it is frowned upon on girls being out after 9:30, since the college is also a alternate way from the village in the back to the highway. The hostel is open for boys 24/7 , but for the girls the gates close at 9:30. It is safe to walk around. But caution should be taken. There is always security around the place to monitor the surroundings. There are several hamgout places like the Horgallu, the basketball court etc. It provides a scenic ambiance.

Unscientific increase in the number of seats in the college is a problem here. There is no increase in the facilities required with the increase in seats. This creates problems as there is no adequate lab facilities and hostel facilities for the increased number.
