Likes

Good college life, enjoyed the campus life and its exposure
Has many tours and programmes which makes the course interesting
Good and experienced faculty , student friendly staffs.

Dislikes

Placement opportunities are less and irregular.
Infrastructure facilities in the hostel is old and need maintenance

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is vast and covers wide range of subjects like social science, basic science, applied science. Often referred to as the 360 degree course . 4 year programme consisting of 8 semesters in which the 4th year includes RAWE programme

Class Size: 101Course Fees: INR 24000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship is a RAWE programme offered in the course in the 7th semester. Monthly 8000rs is recieved as stipend for the various modules and activities students takes part in. Provides good exposure to students

Fees and Financial Aid

The semester fees tends to be around 12000Rs. Various scholarships are available for OBC, EWS, SC, ST categories. SC and ST category students have scholarship where the fees are taken by the government.

Campus Life

Very good campus life , enjoyable with many extra curricular and co curricular activities including spots, arts and cultural fests in the intercollegiate, inter university and national level . Overall good campus life.

Hostel Facilities

Good hostel facility. Infrastructure is old . Boys hostel is a student run mess making the food and mess facilities excellent. Accommodation is near to the college block . The mess bill for boys hostel comes around 3500rs per month

Hostel Fee: INR 45000 per year

Admission

NEET exam, cutoff according to category and differs yearly. Admission through KEAM based on NEET score. Also admission can be through ICAR examinations which reserve somewhat 10-15% of the seats in a batch.

A small nickel of knowledge

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Curriculum is very vast and i hope it is filtered. But the new admission hqs got a very new curriculym with more in person experience courses, which is better in my opinion. I do wish that some courses are changed or added to ours too including AI as it is of rising inpprtance in all sectors.The schedule is very hectic so it could be tweaked a bit to accomadate some relax time for the students.Other than that i belive that the scheduling and curriculum is good. The frequency of examination is okay...but the mark system is very complex. So good marks has to acheieved in almost all the semesters so that a good OGPA can be recueved.

The course is not too tough but not too easy. ...Moderate level. Many practicals are there..... I chose this course for the wide job opportunity even with bsc graduation.... Moreover we have an opportunity to interact with the farming communities.

My opinion

Course Curriculum Overview:

All india tour is a main factor for choosing this course. There are two compulsory course tours of total 40 days (South and North india tour in 2:1 split). We get to see Jammu Rajasthan Himachal Delhi Agra Punjab uttarakhand during North india tour.we are waiting for the South India trip.This course provides quality education on agriculture.We have internals and semester exams .1 sem is six months long.

Remarks:

I wanted to serve the lower levels of the society, also I wanted to a job easily. So I took the course. This college was the best in Kerala, within the university compound. So it is easy for many purposes.

Remarks:

Unscientific increase in the number of seats in the college is a problem here.There is no increase in the facilities required with the increase in seats.This creates problems as there is no adequate lab facilities and hostel facilities for the increased number.

Review after the spending one year here

Remarks:

mostly negative but little positive postiveness is that college consists the lasrge indoor stadium and teacher are humble with students negative there no fixed scheduled of the exams

College is good but the environment is not too much good in Kerala humidity is very high and college there is 100000 also and anytime moisture content very high and not feeling well according to study college is very good

The admission was through Neet . I had hoped to be a doctor. But as the marks wasn't sufficient, I chose agriculture. I only applied for two colleges, this one and College of Agriculture in Vellayni, Trivandrum. I hoped and did chose this college as it is in my hometown so i would'nt have to stay in hostel. It is also the best college for this course in Kerala. The Arts of Kerala Agricultural University is held here. And the landscape is beautiful and vast which also provides enough resources and infrastructure for this course. Students can also get admission through ICAR examination. The cut off changes for each reservation and each year according to the number of students and also the highest marks....Read More

Love your profession and your college

The eligibility of the course is plus two science stream and also there is separate reservation for the students from VHSC.The admission process of Bsc (hons) Agriculture is through NEET and CUET exam. 15 percent of the total seat is of ICAR quata and is filled through ICAR CUET exam and Remaining 75 percent is of state seat and is filled based on the NEET exam rank.There is separate reservation for ST, SC, LC, EWS, OBC students. The NEET and CUET entrance exam for this course is held once in every year during the month of May- june. The exam is of Easy to medium difficulty level and the questions are purely from NCERT testbook. There are 180 multiple choice questions for NEET exam, of which 90 from Biology stream, 45 from physics and remaining 45 from chemistry. Four mark is awarded for each correct answer and one mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.The allotment process is started from November - December onwards.It is a 4 year residential course....Read More
