Likes

There are so many things about this college that I liked, The teachers are so good and professional, The labs are impressive, equipments are premium which is provided while doing any experiments on the lab.
The infrastructure of this college is quite good, common rooms/union room are provided for students.
Cultural programs are good, sports events happens every year on this institution, the environment is pretty impressive and overall quite good!

Dislikes

The college don't have it's personal hostels for students who come from different places from all around the West Bengal.
The College canteens are mostly closed, students go to the outside of the institution to eat food.
The location of this college is quite backward from the main city jalpaiguri.

Course Curriculum Overview

First of all the non-tech students maybe facing problems of unemployment nowadays so I decided to do technical course because this is the only study which offers you any kinda technical job(even if it's low salary). You're not gonna waste your time after completing the course. You can even take extra classes online/offline. On any kinda educational app. Semesters are important, it's quite difficult if anyone don't prepare themselves.

Placement Experience

There are so many tech companies hires the students after completing this course though the campus placement. My plans after this course is joining a company through the campus placement and gain experience almost 2-3 years.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you want then you can study by your own, no need to take tuitions . But for interested students they should take tuitions if they want to learn more with details. It's a govt college so fees is not that huge amount. You only have to pay 2000 each semester before exam(there are 6 semesters in total) and the admission fees are 1500rs×3year.

Campus Life

College cultural programs are too much fun. Social acts are happens sometimes. There are so many engineering books available in the library so you can easily collect it. Sports like cricket, football tournaments are happen here .

Admission

Eligibility of this course are 10th pass, 12th pass, ITI pass. You can fill up the from through this website (WBSCTVE) you can find all the dates and updates on this website. Two exams are there to get addmission polytechnic (jexpo and voclet)

Faculty

The learning experience is quite good, cause the faculty members are professional and highly educated from reputated IITs around all over the India like(IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras etc.) Teachers/instructors have the quality mentorship, like how they treat us and teach us.. On any kinda problem they're totally supportive, they show us anything that we're facing problem to do any task or any assignment which is given. Overall mentorship is good.

Night Life

Nothing's special here at night.. Honestly it's boring here! Only the market near the campus is quite crowded and you can buy food and stationery. Campus are off and gates are closed after 5pm. So you can't go inside the campus at night.

My Experience at TPI as a 3rd Year Diploma Undergrad

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are good. Big names are associated with TPI for campus placements. But for Computer Science students, very few companies arrive, that too with very less salaries. (not worth it). It is generally reccomendable if you can do a Btech is come college and work on your skills there, your employbility gets higher. Highest package from Computer Science is 20 LPA (off-campus) and lowest package is 1.8 LPA (on-campus). Generally on campus placements range from 2 to 3 LPA.

Best start for a professional life

Placement Experience:

From fifth semester semester students became eligible for campus drive recruitment. And college also started campus drive. As i earlier mentioned that campus drive are not that much satisfying at all during 2012-2014. I was passed out at 2014 & in my time there's only one company came for civil engineering branch except that all are IT companies. For electronics & telecommunication and Computer science student there's lots of scope at that period. Some of them got package of 3.6 lakh per annum which may be the highest package as far as i know during my days. In an average we get 2 lakh per annum package. I just set one campus drive recruitment of Printika pvt. Ltd. which recruited almost 15 civil engineer from our branch. They offered 2 lakh per annum package to all. As a percentage of placed student from my branch is almost 20%. Overall from 2014 batch it'll be 30-50%. Unfortunately i didn't placed from that placement drive as I'm planning for higher study.

Highest package is of Jindal around 17k and average package is 11k with accommodations. 85-90% students get placement. I am planning for higher study completing B.tech after getting the degree.

Rajganj Government Polytechnic is the life of Fatapukur and also all over Jalpaigiri.

For the entrance examination, you have to complete JEXPO which is conducted every year in the month of May. The eligibility for taking this entrance is the 10th pass with a 30% mark. The age criteria are 16 years. The application form fee of Jexpo is 450 INR. Application is filled in the month of December of the previous year. There is also have reservation benefit.
