Course Curriculum Overview

3

My reason to choose information technology was to have a balance of software knowledge as well as hardware knowledge and to have a choice at the end of what I want to do and which part interests me more. Curriculum is not at all aligned with real- world applications but other activities in college do prepare us for the real- world applications. AKTU should revisit it's curriculum and change it accordingly with the present scenario. Exams are conducted for no good reason, they are there, so that students would maintain their attendance and every month, there are sessionals which does not give time for the students to do something of their own and get for themselves.

Placement Experience

3

From 4 th year, students can sit in placements. All mass recruiters like infosys, tcs, cognizant came and some top companies like adobe all visits the campus. The highest package according to placement cell was 37 lpa on campus and average package is 5 lpa The 70% students get placed when taking account all the departments of btech. My plan is to get a decent job through which I can fulfill my basic needs and always strike for the better opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

Registration fee-1000 Tuition fees -1,12,850 Wifi-6,000 Book bank- 5,000 Security deposit(refundable)- 8,000 Miscellaneous fee-1,000 E-journal subscription -3,000 Accidental insurance - 500 Lab manuals -500 Personality development fee-1000 Total fees-1,37,850 For MCA Total fees-1,36,000 For MBA Total fees-1,38,000 Scholarships All up government scholarships are available with some eligibility criteria- saksham, pragati AICTE prime minister special scholarship programme.

Campus Life

4

The annual cultural and technical fests is called zealicon typically held in August, it is a three day fest with all fun activities. The library is very good, you can find any book you need, it is vast and spacious and provides a good atmosphere of learning and studying. Classrooms have a decent infrastructure with good board visibility and good lights and furniture. The sports facilities are decent, not over the top but above average, there is an annual sports meet offered by the college called meytri and there are aktu sports fests too. There are many student-run social groups in the college, a very famous one called akshargyan, there i s a temple in the college where around 5 in the evening, little little kid starts coming who are in need and cannot go to school due to financial problems, and students from that groups teaches them and help them grow in their life academically as well as personally.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel rooms are decent, a bed, a table and an almirah is provided by the college There is no common room as such. Mess food is good and menu keeps on changing with including students team too to make decisions. We register for hostels at the time of admission, but at the time of getting the room, it is very hectic unorganised. They are affordable according to the facilities they provide.

Admission

I applied in aktu counselling and was getting ajay kumar college's cse too but left that due to strictness problems and connectivity problems with the city which jss offers, all and all they are almost same, jss leading in just 2-3 points of better peer group, being in a metro city, a little leniency over the time restrictions but there are restrictions too, which made me choose it over akgec. I applied in jossa counselling too but not getting a good college with good branch with my percentile. To get admission in my college, we just have to apply in aktu counselling, which accepts jee mains scorefor the btech programs, the cutoff can lie between 92 to 95 percentile for getting good branch in top private colleges the overall admission process is somewhat hectic because aktu never do things on time.

Faculty

2

The faculty to student ratio is 1:50. The faculty is not at all approachable but some teachers are nice and friendly. Mrs Ranu pandey is of the friendly teachers i can think of to whom students will not think twice to talk to. Mr. Nikunj , he knows what he is teaching, has a great knowledge of his subject but always have a bad mood towards students and not at all approachable. There are 3 sessionals in each semester and one lab sessionals for end semester exams nd practicals. They are not at all tough, teachers provide question banks beforehand and the entiretest is based on that.

Night Life

1

There is no night life in the college you have to be inside the hostel by 9 in the night for girls, boys has a little easier on them having in time of 10:30 but cafeteria is closed till 7 in the evening, the basic amenities shop is closed by 8 in the night, you cannot roam around in the whole college too in the open timings too, guard will intervene and argue for some reason. Campus timings are 8:30 and hostel timings are 9 for girls and for boys campus timings are 9:30 and hostel timings are 10:30. Famous hangout spot or the only hangout spot is the love lane in the college and outside the college, there are so many, you can go to stellar, binge, d-park and there are many street food shops to have food or roam around.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Jims is a ipu college, so yeah curriculum depends entirely on ipu University. First year is similar for all btech courses. Or is easy to earn marks in lab and soft skill subjects but maths or physics is hard. Your 12th basics should be very good, else these two subjects will affect your overall SGPA badly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course structure is good of btech but there there is only thing I don't like is that in btech course the subjects in first year are not related to career of students because there is physics, chemistry other irrelevant subjects present in first year but in second year the course become interesting and relevant. Curriculum is good and prepare well for real world applications. The exams comes frequently every month there is a class test but class tests are moderate on the basis of there difficulty level.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placements in the final year. The college offers basic placement training and assistance. Some local and local-level comanies even visit for campus recruitment with average offers. Average package: 2-4 LPA, highest around 9-10 LPA 60-90 percent students get placed. My plan is to develop my skills and attain a good job or go for higher studies after degree.

Honestly speaking I don't like the curriculum of my college. Everything is same which people studied 20 years ago . Only few things has been changed and I don't understand why we need to study about things which don't have any existence in reality. They should focus on current tech and provide more learning opportunities in AI.

Course Curriculum Overview:

course curriculum is little bit out-dated, and improvements are needed in terms of syllabus. timing of exams are ok ok. so many assignments are given which is really hectic because their are deadlines to upload those assignments in google classroom. and one thing i hate about college is 75% attendence is must. due to this we do not get much time for our personal development.
