Course Curriculum Overview
If you check with other colleges the approach to the curriculum is different and more fun. The process of learning is more fun and appealing making us satisfied of what we have done at the end. Sometimes we don't get how the teachers are expecting us to do our assignments but we figure it out some how. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-sem and end-sem).
Internships Opportunities
I think we have to look for internships ourself although their projects and internships provide valuable experience for aspiring architects, allowing them to get theoretical and practical knowledge in fields
Fees and Financial Aid
My fee was ?17,00,000 lakhs for 5 years. it differs for the students from the states they are from (for example Karnataka students' fee is comparatively lower to others) or their countries if they are NRI. Cast might play a role in this but I am not sure The registration fee was 1500 for the application.
Campus Life
One of the things I love in this college is the events they hold, they're so fun to be in. The campus is huge full of greenery, has 7 beautiful lakes and has 2 libraries (I'm not sure) and has a wide range of books required for studies. They have peer counselling and have various clubs that help us stabilise our mind and thinking. Sports and extracurricular activities are encouraged by the college and u can see that by their annual sports meet. Most importantly the classrooms and departments are fully equipped with required thing my our department even has a 3D printer and has a climatology lab.
Hostel Facilities
The room is provided with a bed, shelf and a study table. There are 2 sharing and 3 sharing rooms available for the girls hostel. There is only one block for the girls hostel and 3 for boys so it is hard to get in but architecture students, working late, get in mostly. Hostel doesn't have a mess, KNs, south canteen and north canteen are open at night.
Admission
I just joined because my friend joined and my parents thought I could get exposure. So my overall admission experience was fine The eligibility was to pass in physics, chemistry and maths in 12th grade, to write nata and to have written JEE paper-2. I applied through the website and then was told to choose a date for the interview. I went for the interview in the next 2 weeks and the interview contained questions anyone could answer like why architecture how did u come to know about the college and stuff. I wasn't asked any questions related to architecture but the previous batch of students attending the interview were asked so. The results were out within 4 days and I got in. I joined the following week.
Faculty
Faculty members are mostly friendly and understanding towards the students and give proper guidance. Students tend to drop out due to their attendance shortage which led them to repeating the semister. CIAs (Continuous Internal Assessment) are conducted which contribute to the markings and the rest of the marks is by jury. We have 2 theory subjects and those are history of architecture (exam requires 70% drawing and 30% writing) and logic of structures (which mostly has only numerical).
Night Life
The campus has a lot of places to chill by evening and night. The campus has a south canteen, north canteen, KNs eats, Nandini, cafe coffee day express, juice world, mba canteen. But they don't have a prepaid mess. The hostel's in time is 8:30pm-9:00pm and we will be punished if we're late. We are free to go out but are supposed to be in by time.
