Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose my course as there were limited seats in computer science branch so I got specialization on Artificial intelligence. Im now a second year student but it doesn't seem that they taught much about AI and other new technologies. The college needs improvement in more smart classes and more seminars in future technologies.

Placement Experience

3

When you get to 5th or 6th semester you become eligible for pre-placement programme. The highest package of our college is 65 LPA on campus and average package turns out to be around 4-5 LPA.The percentage of students placed varies from course to course. In my B.tech course the placement percentage is around 40%.Some famous companies like Accenture, Makes360,Deloitte came for recruitment.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our tuition fees for one semester is ?64150.This fees is for the students who took direct admission without any category. Although the college availabled scholarship for the students of EWS(Economic weaker section) which offered upto 80% scholarship whose family income is less than 1.5 LPA and also for state quota. In my class also few students availed benefits from state quota and their semester was around ?20000.For registeration they charged me ?11000 in the beginning to book a seat in the college as it takes admission on the basis of first come first serve. After that this price was adjusted when I finally took admission in this college.

Campus Life

4

Annually we wave two cultural fests - 1. Freshers' Party and 2. Parivartan cultural fest. In both the fests the involvement of the students is huge. We have inter-college completions on art, fashion, cultural dance, acting etc.The collection of books in library is not so large and only course books are available.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel facility in my opinion is worth the price for its facilities. We get breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner regularly with strict scheduled timings. We get laundry facility where we can give upto 14 clothes per week. Also there is daily attendance to check whether the student is present in the hostel. As compared to PG th hostel seems more reasonable.

Admission

I applied for some other colleges like VIT Jaipur but couldn't make it through their competitive exams. Finally I took admission in this college as it seemed fair for its tuition price and the opportunities it is offering. This college is based entirely on first come first serve basis.Though they ask for 10th and 12th marks, but it doesn't matter much.I applied for this college via online mode and a registration fees was charged to book a seat.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is approx 1:20, so there are many teachers with whom we can interact and ask doubts. It depends on the teacher if he is willing to solve your problems. Some teachers are more approachable and they are ever ready to solve all kinds of academic related doubts. There are also teachers whose teaching style I did not like beacuse they come in class, they dictate and they go back. The marking scheme of the college is average but in the semester exams it doesn't seem to be fair. In the semester exams it seems to be unnecessary cutting of marks and mass supplementary also comes for many students which doesn't make any sense

Night Life

4

The in and out timings for a day scholar is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. For a hosteller the timing to reach hostel is 8:00 PM at night. Gym closes at 7:00 PM. For girls the in and out timings are more restricted for their safety(7:30 PM at night). We have a food court where we can enjoy some fast foods and have a good time with friends in cafe.

The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
