Likes

The course structure for earth sciences branches set the industry benchmark
The sports facilities are well equipped and we have coaches to train u for inter IIT
And its an IIT so better than rest of the places. U get an essence of what it is the moment u enter the campus

Dislikes

There are only 20% girls overall, which makes the boy girl ratio high
The mess is good for nothing you have to spend a lot to sustain urself
The city outside has fancy restaurants and theatres but there is also vibes of a countryside place

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is comprehensive and balnces the theoretical and practical knowledge for the students. With numerous industrial tours and hand on real world projects the growth one can expect in his domain is impressive

Internships Opportunities

All the major core and non core companies come with internship offers and u r paid for the work not lyk other pvt clg in which u hv to pay. U can also opt for research intern under prof and start making projects from day 1 itself

Fees and Financial Aid

The Tution fee for General candidates is 100000 per semester and other chargers including the mess charges amout to an extra 30k. For SC/ST the tution fee is waived off and they get scholarships from different organisations. Candidtes with family income less than 6 lakhs can also avail MCM scholarships

Campus Life

There are 12 cultural clubs. U can do anything u want to do dance photography videography drama u jst name it. All of which are student run and u can be part of it. It plays a crucial role in character development

Hostel Facilities

Hostel affordable and mandatory for all the students the mess fee is around 18k per semester and provides decent space to have a comfortable sleep. If u want to grow in lyf leave ur hostel room n explore people

Admission

I qualifed JEE and this was the best place I could have been. The package is impressive the legacy it hold since 1926 is unique and moreover the branch is incubated here in ISM for the first time. All the industry leaders and innovators are from ISM

Faculty

2 quizes , 1midsem and 1 endsem for each subjects. There grading system is relative hence no matter how well u perform it always depends on how the class has performed. Prof of IITs set the standard themselves. They will challenge u on each and every step

Night Life

We have night cafes in all the hostels. 12am will be cutoff time for hostel entry. We have Dominos in the the campus itself so u can quench ur pizza cravings till midnight. Barista and nescafe are go to coffee spots

BIT Mesra is Musical!!

Placement Experience:

Mechanical branch in terms of number of students placed is quite high but if it is about how many students get elite packages it's less. The average for our branch at our college is 8-9 lakhs but top companies which are into our core space for long are our college partners.

BIT Mesra is humongous!!

Placement Experience:

My plans after degree is to pursue masters or right away get on with my family business as we are already into trading chemicals. However, from the number of students from our stream that apply for jobs through campus, over 80% are placed from campus. Labs to industries that deals in manufacturing of chemicals and exporting the same are the ones where students of our college get the opportunity.

BIT Mesra is Magical!!

Placement Experience:

Highest package from our campus is eye catching as it's 56 lakhs and for chemical branch it was 34 lakhs. HUL, Sun Pharma, public limited labs and various R&D research centres are those that have helped us to get best available jobs in market as the competition is high but BIT Mesra has still managed to place over 80% students last year.

BITS Mesra is Magnificent!!

Placement Experience:

From second semester we are taken for an hour session for special training. It is optional till 4th semester but from 5th semester onwards, it becomes mandatory and we have no choice but to go through that hammer. Finally, from the last year's 1st semester companies starts coming and we can apply for the same and that is how placements are done here.

Placement Experience:

the placement rate depends on branch.some branches like cse,ese will have a high placement rate and for small branches like mechanical and chemical will have less placements .the highest package is around 60lpa.

Read this before joining BIT Sindri.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities is decent for students. The placement of BIT sindri varies from branch to branch but the core brances like Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering has evergreen placements. Among the eligible students around 90 percent students get placed. But in branches like civil and production engineering, its not the same. They have very low placement rate around 20 to 30% of eligible students get placement. For CSE, IT & ECE the placement is highly dependent on the situation of market and it varies early. The students are eligible from 6 the semester onwards for placement . The placement drive starts from August or September and companies visit till students graduate. The top recruiters are TCS with more than 80 students from overall campus , TATA power nearly 20 , LNT, JSW , Vedanta , TATA STEEL, JSL, ADANI, ABG , Shyam steel and For it sector companies like samsung , cognisant, hitachi, TCs, Spyder visited for 2k21 batch. For the batch 2020-2024 among batch size of 710 around 620 offers were made. The highest package is given by samsung which is around 28 LPA , students of CSE, IT, ECE and Electrical are eligible. For IT sector average package is around 6 lakhs. For core sectors companies heightest package is offered by vedanta to Electrical, Mechanical, Mining which is around 14 lakhs average package is around 7 LPA.. Around 75- 80 percent students get placed during campus placement drive. The Wish to crack GATE and join PSU after my graduation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is slightly outdated due but still it isnrelevant due to research oriented branch. The areas they can improve is by adding practical subjects more than theoretical one. Exams are conducted twice every semester with easy to moderately moderate difficulty level.

All things to be considered before taking admission in BIT

Placement Experience:

After 3rd year students are eligible for placement the companies visited are google,jindal,TCS, aakash,PWetc.the highest package offered was 25LPA and the average was 5-6LPA.the place percentage was 60-70% because there are students who is preparing for civil services,GATE,etc.My plan was to crack GATE and get placed in one of the PSU's.

BIT Mesra Review in a nutshell

Placement Experience:

After completion of 6th sem students are eligible for placements. All major tech giants you name it like Google, Microsoft,Walmart,Atlassian,Flipkart,Visa,Texas Instruments,Arcesium,Salesforce..... etc do visit the campus for the placement and around there are around 250+ companies visiting. Highest offered was around 51 lakhs and average for CSE is around 21Lakhs. Percentage of students placed is close to 90%.

All You need to know about IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

As this is an IIT, To get admission here Firstly You have to take the JEE mains exam. At our time there used to be 4 rounds of the JEE Mains exam and Your maximum percentile among all 4 would be considered for a cutoff It was around 90% and to be eligible for give JEE advance Exam. The JEE advance exam happened in July, and its results were also released in August. After Qualifying JEE Advanced exam too you have to go through JOSSA counselling. In JOSSA counselling you have to give your list of colleges priority wise and you will be allotted college based on your AIR. After JOSSA counseling of 6 rounds, you will be allotted a college and then you will receive an offer letter from a college. For me, at IIT Dhanbad after taking admission firstly we were introduced to college through an orientation session with our respected director. After this we were called to campus for pre-registration for our course there we had to submit our documents and verify our identity. That's it !!...Read More
