Course Curriculum Overview

5

I was very interested in Computer Science Engineering. That made me choose this course. The curriculum is based on the curriculum provided by the UGC and prepares the students well for real-world applications and further academic pursuits. The mid-semester exams are held in March and October months of the even and odd semesters respectively while the end-semester exams are held during June and December months of the even and odd semesters respectively. The exams have moderate difficulty and they test the overall understanding of the student.

Internships Opportunities

5

Amazon, Flipkart, Optimyzer along with Mass recruiters such as Capgemini, TCS, Accenture and Cognizant offered internships as well as full time roles to the students from stipends ranging from ?10000 to ?50000 and CTC ranging from 3LPA to 50LPA

Placement Experience

5

Students are eligible for campus placements from 5th semester itself. Big companies such as Amazon visited. Highest package is close to 60LPA. Average package is 15LPA. Nearly half of the students are placed in my batch.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year-wise fees is 240000. I have availed scholarship of 60000 per year. The registration fee is 10000. Apart from that examination fee is 6000 per year. The scholarship is provided through LPU-NEST. All the categories have same tuition fees.

Campus Life

5

Annual Event is One-India. It is held in the month of April. There are multiple other events that are held throughout the year. The books and jounal available in the library are easily accessible. Every classroom is equiped with projector and has 2 ACs Sports and extra-curricular activities are held and encouraged a lot. There are multiple sport events that are held throughout the year. There are many student-run social groups and clubs that host multiple events and competitions.

Hostel Facilities

5

The most common room is 4-seater room available in AC and non-AC. It room has a attached washroom and bathroom. Every room has geyser and hot water is available 24/7. Each hostel has a mess and the quality of food is decent. Variety of food is served. Hygiene is good in mess. The seating capacity is also enough to host multiple students. Registration for hostel is done throught the college online portal. It cost ?100000 per year for 4-seater AC room.

Admission

I've chosen this course for two reasons. First one is the study programme. I went through the curriculum for all four years and check every subject. I found the curriculum very competitive and up to the market standards. Second is the infrastucture and the facilities that the college provides is very impressive

Faculty

4

The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:70 in one class. The faculties are approachable and friendly. There are 3 Class Assessments (CA) per theory subject and 4 Class Assessments (CA) per practical subjects in one semester. There is also Mid-Term and End-Term examination in every semester. The exams are fairly though but examine the overall understading of the student in the subject. The course curriculum is based on the curriculum provided by the UGC.

Night Life

5

There are 3 gyms inside the campus. There are multiple libraries. Each department hosts there own libraries which have books and journals required for deeper understanding of the subject. The library is open from 09:00AM to 12:00 in the midnight. You can enter in the campus anytime by showing leave slip. Hostel is also open all day. The famous hangout place in the campus is Unicenter. There are also many food courts and food stalls in and around the campus. The campus is safe to roam around all day. The locality around the campus is unsafe to roam around in night

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
