Course Curriculum Overview

4

As they have life skill where they teach vocational skill and sports or yoga.. It's quite interesting and good. They have experiential learning of every subject and have to do one report, ppt presentation and have to present in front of student. This is how they tackle with the fear od speaking. They also hold placement training session in 3rd year I guess.

Internships Opportunities

2

Here mostly people search for off campus internship and rarely internship comes here. They provide us paid internship which just gets us certification nothing else. It's very cheap in the internship sector.

Placement Experience

3

This year the package went upto 16 lpa on campus and 22 lpa off campus.. But many got package of 3.4-4 lpa. Infosys is one of the highest recruiters. And 30% of students got 7-9 lpa package too.. It totally depends on your skill set. Here cgpa doesn't matter if you have decent cpga of 7.5-8.0 then it is good.

Fees and Financial Aid

Well semester fees is 112500 you have to pay semester wise... To get admission you can give exam like jee, ojee(lateral entry), cget exam... There is no such think as curt off but you should score at least above 70 percentile to get cse Registration fees is of 14000 every year. Here no reservation is there category wise.. All. Have to pay same amount... College provides NSP and OSP scholarship.... It also provide cv raman scholarship and scholarship from some private sectors too

Campus Life

2

Well, first induction program I was quite impressed. But they don't have that good infrastructure classrooms have broken seats and fan doesn't work... It is a big campus they all waste there money in plantation works only... Old infrastructure. Security here is quite tight. They treat students like hell. You can't order anything from back gate or front gate after 6:30 pm which is quite bad and at the sane time you can't leave your hostel after 6:30pm

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is quite good. I live in new hostel so it is very good. They have helper who cleans everyday. There are three water filters and the rent according to them. Is quite high is manageable. The food is quite decent they change menu according to season. But they don't provide any evening snacks and tea.. Tea is very essential they don't provide that which is ridiculous.

Admission

I thought it has good placement. It quite good though. And cv raman was according to my budget. As doing cse from kiit and iter would have cost more. And it has Google developers groups too which is quite active and they hold many boot camps here

Faculty

4

They teach 5 subject 4 are main subject and one life skill... This year they have added new things in life skills like basketball, yoga, volleyball etc. There are large density of students so they form a group. The group has 92 students. The group. Is formed according to. There bridge cousre result, which they take in between induction program group 1 has all high scorers. This group is changing every year according to there semester results. Here, physics department male teachers are very arrogant and.. Some computer science department male teachers too. They teaching method is quite though. They evaluate lab test at last. And takes exams of only 4 main subject the question paper is quite decent according there teaching

Interview Experience

4

No... Admission is quite easy. It will need either jee or cget entrance to get admission. There is no such thing as cut off and yeah you need atleast 70+ percentile to. Get cse branch here. It's is very easy process

Night Life

2

It has good gym, a basic library, and some groups like anubhuti dramatics club and dexters dance crew... They both are quite established. The hostel. Closes at 6:30 pm for both boys and girls. If anybody comes after that they are severely shouted They have a canteen named wow momo and has many small food area around campus. They cost ridiculously high.

Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
