Good for research - Bad for campus life

The course seemed really emerging. It was also very interesting to see the course contents and how it combines the physical world to the cyber world. However, theres very few course materials as the subject is very new. The curriculum is very messy and chaotic. The exams are very difficult even from an iit students' perspective.

Companies like paypal visa etc comr fot internships but only select the creme de la creme. There's unequal opportunities given favoring the cse core branch. You have to do multiple projects throughout your course just to pass an exam.

Placements are decent. Out of 12000 people 10000 have been recruited by MASS RECRUITMENT COMPANIES. Very very few students are getting decent offers. Cyber physical systems isnt even getting shortlisted. Highest salary offered by google around 30 lpa.

Fee structure depends on the category you get based on VITEEE exam. Category 1 is 1.5 lakhs while category 5 is 5 lakhs per year. Better rank students get category 1 and 2 and so on. There's an alumni fee and a development fee of around 20000

The campus has two main fests - vibrance and technovit. Both are very mediocre with little to no freedom given to students. Girls and boys celebrate seperately. Theres a lot of clubs which host regular events. Sports facilities are extremely bad and basically non existent. The library has a decent amount of books but its usually over crowded.

I applied to bits, thapad, manipal. Chose vit because of my good rank and the scope of research here. I got accepted into manipal jaipur. In hindsight i should have taken it. The admission process consists of the VITEEE exam which is very easy compared to jee. Based on the score you get different amounts of scholarship.

70 students to 1 faculty. Depending on some course that number stretches to 120. Best faculties include Dr. Ranjith Kumar, dr Wii sivakumar. There's 3 exams during a semester which have a higher difficulty level than most iits. No time is given to prepare.

Basically non existent night life. You arent allowed to roam in campus after 9 pm for boys and 7:30 for girls. The area surrounding the college is a village and there's nothing to do with 1-2 decent places to eat. Gyms are extremely overcrowded as well.
