Course Curriculum Overview

The overall content whethere the subject will be interesting or not and what who will be the professor of the course, the major criteria while choosing the subject was the learning experiences and the feedback of the seniors. the curriculum for the courses included the lectures, projects, labs that gives the well idea of the real world application of the course.

Placement Experience

The student become eligible for the placement after the 6semester, and having no active backlogs while sitting for the campus placemnts, the companies visited contains the list of the top IT and the PSUs company such as BPCL, Reliance etc. The highest package for the company was 2crore for the year 2020 which offered the role for the software engineer. The lowest package was 6lakh that was offered, the percentage of the students get placed were 84% of the 2020 batch which included the B.Tech and the M.tech and the phd students.

Fees and Financial Aid

THe total fees was 64000 per semeter for the B.Tech for OBC(non crearmy layer), which includes the tution fees which was 33000(for non creamy OBC students), examination fees 500 registration 1000 and gymkhanna fees which was 1000, the hostel rent was not costly was up to 1000, the mess fee was 18000 and apart from this there were several fees that includes laboratory charge, hostel maintenance charge

Campus Life

The name of the annual fets was the Alcheering which was the largest cultural fest any college had in the northeast states, apart from this there was the Techniche which was a technical fest for the college. The library included a wide range of books for every department and the course. The facilities were high class for every classroom which included the speakers and the seating capacity of 200 students in a classroom, AC. There was student portals for queries related to acadmic and othere complaints.

Hostel Facilities

There were single rooms provided for each student starting form the second year, the hostel rooms included a bed and the fan. The mess food was average in the quality, the menu keeps on changing week wise for the students. The registration process for hostel was very simple and it was included in the fees of the semester, the hostel was affordable and there was not that much cost for the hostel.

Admission

The college was under the top 10 colleges for pusuing the B.tech in india, and the wide range of the facilities that was provided in the college including the games, sports, culural environment, the alumni network of the students, Apart from this the top 5 colleges for B.Tech in india were having the high cut off for the year 2020, the increase in no of seats and the low rank was the reason. The admission process of the college was very simple, the exam accepted for the course was the JEE Advanced and it was given by over 12 lakh of students across India for all the IITs and NITs

Faculty

the student to faculity ratio was 1:10, the faculty and the administration of the IITG was not supportive to the students body. Dr. poonam was the professor of the mechanical department who was very supportive and a good experienced teacher. The dean of the college was not so good, Rajkumar thumar who was the part of the student body in admin, was very rude. The total no of the exams depends on the semster and the course wise, while some subjects were easy and some were hard, but the overall overage for every subject was considered while grading and there was relative grading for the course. The exams levels were easy, mostly student get pass the chances of fail was very less, less than 10%.

Night Life

The gym of the IITG was not very managed mostly things were broken and there was no guide or coach for the gym the students has to learn on their own. There was the centeral and there was the gym in every hostel, which includes some set of machines and the equipments of the gym. There were no strict timings for the entry and exit in the campus the hostel was very well managed and there were 12 hostels. The famous hangout place in the campus was the view point.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Placement Experience:

Placement of NIT silchar is pretty good. Average package is around 12 Lpa. Although after corona the placement dropped but still it is good. Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester. Generally criteria for sitting in any company varies based on cgpa and sometimes 10th and 12th marks depends on company to company generally it is 6 or 7 or 8 cgpa. Good it companies offer 20-30lpa and lowest offer was 6th lpa.
