Course Curriculum Overview

3

I am pursuing B-TECH and my courses are 7 and apart from 11 and 12 we have extra python and HTML. I personally feel physics and maths are burdened in the sem because their syllabus was limited to what I had studied in calss 11 and 12. Also the python course was quite rigid and the teaching was fast paced also the dependence on laptop created a fuss. If python and HTML are taught with more creativity and with some time it will be great for all the students to grasp the concepts very well and if the burden of assignments is limited then students can code more.

Fees and Financial Aid

My current fees is 98400 but the original fees for my programme is 140000. Basically the crititeria depends on your score in Lpunest. I passes lpunest with tier2 category.I received 30 % scholarship, my batchmates are paying more than a lakh. For SC,ST and OBC there are several reservations available you just have to present your caste certificate and income certificate also your class 10,12 grades matter if your score is more than 90% then your entitled for 10% deduction in scholarship per semester. Registration fees I paid was 15000 which was deducted from my fee they also charge exam fee which is 4500 per semester and career services registration fee which is 16000 to be paid in second year.

Campus Life

4

Lpu is very renowned for it's infrastructure and campus life. There are gardens, trees and parks inside. Life at Lpu is very happening there are fests happening almost everyday recently we had an event called spectra were students showcased their skills. Also there are concerts recently paradox and anuv jain visited. I can assure you these fests are very engaging. There is an entire student welfare wing where clubs of almost interests are present like dancing, singing and mimicry. There are organistaions available also where students can work part time to polish their skills. For sports there is a dedicated ground for each sport cricket or football. Also there is an indoor sports complex with swimming pool inside and instructurs are there for each sport. Trust me if you want to enjoy your college life LPU should be your top priority.

Admission

Other colleges I applied were IIT and NIT , I basically wanted to go there but I couldn,t clear Jee advanced and I had to settle with a private university. I had many options like bennet, amity and Graphic era but i chose LPU because it was more affordable then aothers. Also on the internet LPU was the famous one and the placements insights of LPU were better than other colleges. The admission process is very simple you have to fill the applicationa and then apppear for lpunest which is given at your home in laptop but is monitures through webcameras. If you manage to clear lpunest you'll get admission mail getting admission here is cakewalk lpunest is very easy exam.

Faculty

2

As i have mentioned the faculty is really rude sometimes and they are very strict towars the attendance and if a student is late even 2 minutes they won't provide attendance . Their teaching styles are very orthodox and there is no creativity in their teaching styles. They just come out read the ppt's aloud and leave. The good aspect is teachers are changed every semester in Lpu and students are provided a feedback form at the end of the semester where ratings are to be provided to teachers. If a particular teacher have less ratings they are transferred or fired. The student teacher ratio is 1:60 and I hope to get some good faculties next semester

Night Life

4

Night life here is mostly for hostellers as they dayscholars are not allowed after 6pm . There are almost 200 food stalls in the entire campus very srcumptious and delicious food is served. Main attraction at night is the robo park surrounded by trees the freshair and cool breeze is enjoyed by each student . Also sports are actively played at night like football and basketball.

Other Applied Colleges

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
