Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is fairly good. The college provides three compulsory subjects namely Ability Enhancement Courses, Value Education Courses and Indian Knowledge System. And the student also have to choose one open elective for extra skills such as animation, photography, IT literacy, Ayurvedic Wellness. The college provides one major subject and two minor subjects( for the first year) and later in the next year one minor subject is deducted. The subjects are really helpfult for the student to develop their skills and knowledge including co curricular activities such as yoga, dance, singing, and many more. The college also provides a platform for the future artists to follow their passion. I think the college does not need to improve in course curriculum it's really good. The exams are not that easy and also not that difficult. Depends on the preparation of the student

Internships Opportunities

2

Wipro, Google, Amazon are some companies which offer internship with various posts such as content writer, editor, animator, advertisement executive, script writer, editor, journalist, teacher, professor, lecturer and many more

Placement Experience

4

The college provides on campus placements. The students are eligible for the placements after their internship or after completing the final year of their course. Companies such as Wipro, Amazon, Google, Sun Pharma have visited the college. Last year 236 students were placed at Fergusson college. The average package was ?390000 for understanding graduate and ?450000 for post graduate. The average percentage of students getting placement in Fergusson college is from 75-80% My plans after completing graduation are, to complete my master's degree and then doing B.Ed and I want to become a professor or teacher.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as I know I will be paying the same amount for the next 2 years as well. For the first year I have paid ?26690(non grant) which includes tuition fees(?5675), Student deposit(?1500), exam fees(?3200) and other fees(?16315) as per OBC category, Application fees was ?50. The fees for non grant students of all categories was almost same. For the students of grant in aid the fees was ?12000 varying according to the categories College provides scholarship programme such as MAHADBT for OBC, SC, ST category

Campus Life

4

The college's fest is the most awaiting and exciting. Students from different different departments perform different types of art. The college celebrates all the festivals. The wadia library is the most famous Library in Pune, it has different varieties of books from 9000s Every classroom has a smart board as well as a black board, it becomes easy for teachers to teach and students to understand concepte easily. The campus provides many opportunities for sports person too, games like badminton, cricket, basketball, football and more are player on state level as well as national level.

Admission

I didn't apply for any other college. This was the only college I applied for. And I got selected here. Firstly the student has to fill the application form and have to fill the necessary details such as previous scores and the the course they are interested in. Then after applying for the course the college displays the merit list on the official website with the cutoffs. The students are then requested to be physically present in the college for the admission confirmation and for further proceedings.

Faculty

4

The faculty is absolutely amazing, our English teachers, psychology teacher and philosophy teacher are the best ones. Teachers interact with students in a friendly way which helps in understanding the concepts and ideas in better way. The faculty is very approachable. In each semester the college conducts two Concurrent evaluation exams which are considered internal examination, both in total have 40 marks and one End Semester Exam which is considered as External examination having 60 marks, both in total have 100 marks.

Night Life

2

Kimaya and amphitheatre are my personal favourite spots in the college. Kimaya is where all the students can follow their passion, practice their talents with joy and enthusiasm. The students often visit canteens after the classes are over, one of the most crowded yet fun place in college. I have not experienced late night activies so I can't say about that. The college also has hostel facilities for girls as well as boys with good facilities. College also provides gym facilities for students. These plays a very important role in shaping student's college life by making it fun, exciting, filled with joy.

Quite substandard and below average. Prioritised rote learning over critical thinking. Just a rubber stamp for a degree. No actual education ever took place. Exams were anually or bi annually. Exams were difficult if you cannot write 30 pages in 3 hours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Yes, there is no specific place where we get to know that whether the college is open or not on a specific day like the day which has been declared closed by the government. The college doesn’t provide this facility for us. We have to move all towards our home to the college to get this thing.
