Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculumn is so good because there are lot of application based subjects and even in regular subjects there involves some practical projects. It does prepare us for the real world because the curriculumn as a whole prepares us for time management, handling pressure, being persistent and so many other things which are required in the real world.

Internships Opportunities

5

The internship opportunity was good as there were lot of companies who were visitin us for internship. The highest stipend was from British Telecom which gave 70k and there was Amagi who gave 55k stipend and similarly there were many companies which offered good stipend. Big companies visited without any stipend but for good experience and learning

Placement Experience

4

The placements are good. The college has totally 6 semesters and after the 4th semester the students are eligible to attend the placements. The students need a minimum of 4.8/8.00 CGGA to sit in the placements The companies which visit here are - EY, KPMG, Mindsprint, Lowe's, Accenture, Tata Power, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Sabre, Oxane, Well's Fargo. The highest package was from Lowe's and the package was 23.7 LPA and the role was Product manager, it was offered for people from engineering background and with 2 years of experience. The average package here is 10.5LPA and most of the companies come for this range. The percentage of students getting placed is close to 95% as some of them don't clear the eligibility and some don't get placement event with good CGPA. Plans after getting degree is to join work and continue to learn

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly tution fee is 12,00,000 and the hostel fee is 2,75,000. So total is 14,75,000. The fees has to be paid in installments, so 2,00,000 in each installment and totally 6 installments. Hostel fees is also paid in installments of 63k first time, 54k 2nd time, 48k 3rd time and 48k 4th time

Campus Life

5

The campus life experience here is too good, with lot of activities going on throughout the year. There are totally 12 clubs and some committees and each club organizes at least 2 events each month. This makes the college time completely packed with lot of activities. The Entrepreneurship club, Empresario organizes many events to promote the entrepreneurial spirit of the students and to encourage creativity and thinking out of the box. There are 3 campus level and south India level competitions organized by this club. The library has a vast range of books including all genres. The library is such a good place to study and do group activities, the facilities here are so good and encouraging to study. Sports club also organizes many events for cricket, football and badminton, but the facilities in college are not that great.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is decent. The rooms are of 3 room capacity and of decent size and with attached balcony in some of the rooms. The menu includes everything which is suitable for people from different regions and the quality of the meal is decent most of the times. The hostel facility is compulsory as it is a residential program and it's compulsory for all the students to stay in the college. The college has started building new building for hostel for the students. The students also has the option to stay outside, so there are many PGs nearby which the customers can shift to.

Admission

I had applied for other colleges like Christ university in bangalore and some other colleges like SIBM pune, bangalore and so on. I got admission from Christ university, Bannerghatta campus since I had applied for the business analytics stream in MBA. The feedback I got for the Christ university was similar to XIME in terms of the package and the return of investment and other things. But one drawback which I felt was that, most of the students whom I spoke to in Christ university, mentioned that the professors are too strict and that they treat the students like UG students or school students. So I felt that the exposure won't be good in such a strict place, so decided to go for XIME. In XIME the feedback I got was good because the locality here is too good in the centre of electronic city and also it's a proper Bschool focusing only on the MBA students. The total strength in the college is only 600 compared to universities with 1000s of students. So XIME is more focused. The admission process of XIME involved application in the website, followed by a group discussion held online, then followed by an interview immediately. The GD and interview was a total of 1 to 2hrs process. The exams which are accepted are MAT, CAT, CMAT and the cutoff is usually above 70 or 80, I landed here with 92 percentile in MAT

Faculty

4

The faculties here are highly knowledgable with lot of experience in their whole career. All the faculties focus on giving the students a great exposure to the related subject they are teaching. Some of the faculties are deeply dedicated to giving a great experience to students during their classes, with lot of case studies, real projects and so many other activities. The faculties which I like most are Dr. Subramanian K, Professor Anil J Philip, Dr. Mahesh M V, Dr. Christopher Rajkumar, Dr. Biswajit Mohanty, Dr. Johnson Clement and Dr. Athouba. All these above faculties are highly dedicated to their work and give great knowledge. There are 2 exams such as mid term and end term. Both happens in such a way that there are more than 1 exam each day and within 3 days all exams will be over. The marking schemes recently is very interesting because there is mark for class presentation, quiz, project, class participation, attendance and so many other aspects and not just the exams.

Interview Experience

5

Yes, there was exam which is MAT/CAT/CMAT for being eligible to attend the admission process. If we meet the required cutoff for the college, then the college will conduct a group discussion and interview process. The process was not that difficult as it was mostly based on our college undergraduation and about the work experience and the need for why we want to pursue MBA and why we wanted to choose XIME over other colleges.

Night Life

4

The students have a limit of 9PM curfew after which the studets cannot go out. There is gym in the girls hostel and also in the boys hostel which the students can use at any point of time. The library is not accessible after 9PM. There are no cafetarias after 9PM which the students have access to. There are many places nearby for hanging out before 9pm, there are kind of shops matching to South, North and everyone's interest. There are many dosa shops, many shops offering noodles and north Indian dishes. Inside the college there is one canteen and a vending machine, but both are not accessible after 9PM

Placements are really good. Once you start with the 3rd sem the placement drive will start to happen. Many big companies like Deloitte, KPMG etc comes to our college. However the finance area is very competitive and I personally would not recommend you to take that area as your specialisation

Placement Experience:

The placements at IIMB are among the top in country. Companies across various domains like Consulting, Investment Banking, IT, Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing take part in the campus placements. Placements take place 2 times one - summer internships for 1st years and the final placement for 2nd year students. IIMB has a stellar placement profile with 100% students getting placed in a record 3 days period with an average package of INR 30 lakhs+. My plan after getting MBA degree is get placed in a good company where I can utilize the skills learned here on real life problems.

Students start their placement journey from the first semester itself. The faculty prepare us for placements from the first semester by providing placement training and other classes. The actual placement may begin from the second or third semester. The average packages are around 5 lakhs to 7 lakhs annually. The highest package is 50 lakhs annually and lowest is 3 lakhs annually. The percentage of students placed is 75 percent last year. I plan to get placed from the college that provides a decent package in a reputed company.
