Course Curriculum Overview

4

Lpu was actually ready to teach aerospace in a very affordable fees as compared to other other colleges, that was my main reason to come here. We have practical sessions with theory. Like we made a powered UAV glider after learning the theory concepts and it was good. The exams are held monthly with a lot of CA's. For Difficulty level i would rate it to be medium actually.

Internships Opportunities

4

Actually I don't know much about this because students fins their own internships. Most seniors go for autodesk for internships from their third year onwards. Students are also seen going for coding related internships as it is taught to us from second year.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible for campus placements from there 3rd year (if your course is for 4years) The companies often visiting are boeing, air bus , indigo, half and drdo. Highest package offered is 22lakhs and average package is 5 lakhs. 60 Percent students gets placed, rest go for higher studies. My plan is to write AFCAT after my graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees is 154000 , 77000 per sem Exam fees per sem 4500 We don't have anything like lab fees and all, it's all with the tuition fees only. Scholarship you will get according to your performance in lpu nest or cuet or jeemains or cbse board 12th marksheet. The amount I have mentioned is what I am paying, like per sem the course fee is 110000.

Campus Life

4

Regional festivals are celebrated by the students. Apart from that your department also celebrates it. And on festivals you'll get special menu in your hostels. High assessibilty of books is there. All sort of book is there. Let it be fiction or let it be for entrance preparation.. anything, everything is there . Overall satisfied with Library facilities. A lot of sports is been offered in our college. You'll need to pay a minimal fee like for badminton it's 2500 per year. Gym facilities are also there. Yes a lot of clubs are run by students, like our literary club, it's completely run by students.

Hostel Facilities

4

We get a table and half our almirah for keeping our things. They'll provide you the mattress. I have four seater non AC room, so I have a cooler with a geyser for winters. Hostel food quality is actually good. And also they provide you with a lot of variety everyday. Registration for hostel u can do it online. Facilities are Depends on the amount you pay like a ac 4 seater is 1 lakh Pg are available everywhere mostly in phagwara.

Admission

I didn't apply for any other colleges actually. Lpu was my first choice. You'll have to appear for lpunest (based on your course). If you get selected, submit all the documents and the fees. You can do it all online, even the exam. You'll get your scholarship according to your marks in lpunest or jee mains or cuet.

Faculty

4

Actually in our branch the faculties are really good and educated too, I mean they have a good indepth knowledge about their subject. We are given a separate mentor for 5 students each for our first year to share everything and that's a plus point. I like my physics ma'am a lot, not taking any names tho. She is really very inspiring and puts a good amount of effort on us. Exams are held monthly here. Like the main exams are semester wise but you'll have Class assessments and mid term exam too. And all are important. 2 in every 10 students fail in the exams not because of the faculty but their lack of preparation.

Night Life

4

Gym facilities are available, for boys it is 5 to 9 For girls it is 5 to 7 Library is open for everyone from 9 pm till 12pm, all days. My famous hangout place inside university is the game pool and the uni mall. Girls are not allowed outside hostel after a certain time at night, but boys can, yes it is safe.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
