Course Curriculum Overview
I always had a interest in computer software as I've been tinkering with them ever since I was a kid. C programming (which is the most relevant to my course), is well structured with normal whiteboard teaching and hands-on approach on computers being done. I think I will be fairly industry ready till the placement season. In my opinion, some of the redundant part can be removed and different types of programs should be taught. The exams are frequent but I think that's just due to the rush of 1st semester. The exams themselves are not very hard and as mentioned previously, can be easily passed with flying colors.
Internships Opportunities
As far as I know, internship is provided by the college but as I'm only in 1st semester, I have no idea about it. Though companies like Vipro, TCS and Infosys give interships with stipends to a lot of students every year.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for on-campus placements from the 6th semester. Companies such as TCS, infosys have come for placements. Almost every eligible student are placed every year. The highest package is around 32L. My plan is to get a placement after degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
I will be paying 137360 per year. The yearly fees for OBC students is 79534, for SC/ST candidates - 4360, for SBC/DT/VJ/NT students - 21708, TFWS fees is 21708 and for J&K students the yearly fees is 29360. MAH-DBT is a available for non-general students.
Campus Life
Alegria, which is the largest college fest in all of Navi Mumbai, is held in february of every year. Many celebrities such as Yo Yo Honey Singh, Badsah, Samay Raina, Mika Singh and Arjit Singh have performed. It lasts over a course of 3 days excluding the competitions taking place 2 weeks before. Wide variety of books and journal covering almost every topic are present in the library. The issuing is a very simple process and is done swiftly with the help of the library staff. A lot of sports events are held and the college even has its own teams in various sports which have competed even at the national level. A lot of student-run clubs are present.
Admission
I applied of SIES, Nerul and AP Shah, Thane but ultimately chose this college as it was near my home and pretty much at their level. I can easily upskill at this college because I don't have a lot of travel time to and fro college. Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and Maharasahtra State Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) is accepted in this college. Most students in the college have taken admission on the basis of MHT-CET.
Faculty
The faculties are always open to discussion with the student. They surely love the subject they are teaching. The teaching is done is a interactive manner so as to make sure the students are actually understanding what is being taught. Prof. Sheikh Shahid (Mech faculty for 1st sem) and Prof. Ravindra Nikam (Physics faculty for 1st sem) are probably the best faculty in all of 1st sem. 3 exams are held throughout the semester. Two internal assessements whose average marks go towards the CGPA and a end sem exam like any other college. The exams are not much difficult, coming from a perspective of a regular student who was attended almost every lecture and studies only upto 10 hours a week. Anyone can pass with flying colors even if they just paid attention in lectures as faculties are excellent.
Night Life
a lot of cafeterias and restaurants are present near the campus. As Panvel is just a town, there is not much to do past midnight. As the Railway Station is near the campus, it makes other cities more accesible for hangout.
