- Campus is really big and has everything one could ask for.
Dislikes
- Fest, and stuff like that is not very common here. As a first year felt disappointed since we didn't even have our official freshers
- They appointed many new teachers to us, the first years, and they didn't know how thing at the university worked so it felt a bit unprofessional.
- The dean of our usct building doesn't really listen to our opinions and stuff.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose b. Tech in chemical engineering because i didn't wanted to go with the crowd of Cs engineering. Chemical engineering is not at all what it sounds like. It's more like physics and maths than chemical itself. Don't opt for it if you don't like maths and physics. I checked the syllabus of GATE because that's usually what people like to do after b. Tech in chemical either for further studies or for securing jobs in PSUs . And the syllabus seems very much like the university syllabus, the tolics were same. The teachers and faculty here helps you with your semester exams as well as for gate exam. In a single semester, mid sem exam happens, if the teacher wants, mid sem 2 will also happen, each of usually 15-25 marks, depending on the faculty completely. The exams have medium difficulty, tho past result says math is the toughest to even pass.
Internships Opportunities
The third year seniors suggests to start internships from 2nd year itself tho the college officially helps the students with internships from the third academic year only. You mainly need to get internships on your on, offcampus. Need to learn DSA and stuff on your own, offcampus.
Placement Experience
The campus placement is not really top notch, tho there is proper placement cell just like any other college, the average package is very low , ranging between 2lpa to 3lpa , and the maximum being 9lakhs per annum. But this is only for USCT that is university school of chemical technology, other schools have way better opportunities for sure. But considering after IIT delhi, our college was the first to introduce chemical course, it's quite acceptable. There is ou one teacher that takes care of the placement cell, which ks Dissapointing. Companies that visits-Indian oil corporation, asianpaints. Only 30-40 percent students get campus placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fee university per annum 2024-25(for first year) is 140000 rupees, university charges/share per annum is 20000 rupees, Alumni contribution fund(onetime payment) is 2000 rupees, examination fee per student is 3000 rupees, innovation and incubation fee is 500 rupees, Development and infrastructural chargee are 10000. This all adds up to make a total fee of 1,75,000 fir the first year. The tearly fees increases every year. Tution fee university per annum for the second year (2025-26) is 154000 , everything remains same, which adds up and makes the total fee 1,87,500. For the third year (2026-27) the tution fee university per annum is 169400 , which adds up and makes the total fee 2,02,900. For the fourth year (2027-28) the tution fee university per annum is 186340, which adds up and makes the total fee 2,19,840. Lateral entry students pay the same fees. For M. Tech, the first year fee is rupees 1,55,000 and second year is rupees 1,65,500. This is fee structure stands for all the four year programs or two year programs in the college.
Campus Life
The main fest that happens here is th "anugoonj fest" Its quite big. Happens every year. The library facility is really good, you can find almost every book that your teacher suggests you for referring, sitting area is quite big, you have access to computers too, has a designated area for E-library. The classrooms for the first tear students have aur conditioners. It has projectors too, the classrooms are all well maintained. The sports community is called DSW. Have all kind of sports. Basketball, volleyball, cricket, judo, kabaddi, tug of war, running, sprinting, shotput, etc. There are many clubs too, like dance club, singing club, reader's club, nature club, nss, ncc, csar and many more.
Admission
So for b. Tech you need to give JEE exam. In my case i scored 82 percentile and 293826 rank. Which made it near to impossible to secure a good government college or any high rated private college like bennet. I applied for every government college in my city, DTU, NSUT, IGDTW etc but couldn't get in any of them. Then i opted for ggsipu, it has many colleges but only a few of them are government colleges. I got in this college by applying in their online counselling, i got offers from uss dwarka, ADGITM and many more, but i opted for uss dwarka since it was government aided. The counseling process was rather simple.
Faculty
In a single semester, from what i know as first year student, each subject has a total of 100 marks and it totally depends on the teacher that teaches you that specific subject how he/she wants to split the marks. Usually the end semester exams are of 60 marks which makes it very difficult to score good marks in your end sem. But the remaining 40 marks are of attendance /assignments given to you by the faculty. The faculty here is really good, many teachers here are IIT passouts (apparently). But most of the teachers seemed to be relying on their assistants i.e the phd scholars.
Night Life
There is not really a night life, but the campus is just really pretty, it has a fountain near the hostes and it is the main sitting point because it has amul cafe near it, the college canteen is just in front of it, in and all it is the best place to hangout with your friends. There is no gym in the campus. The hostel closes at 11. Dwarka sector 14 metro station is really close to the campus so it makes very easy transportation.
