Remarks

They should extend the in time for girls hostel and should have more freedom because college students are adults so it's not a good idea to have control over them. And the second thing, as VIT being a big institute, has a good no of students. Many people get l

Entrance Preview

I took VIT JEE for getting into VIT. My rank was in 3054. I didn't opt for this college particularly but yes, I liked their overall profile.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is very good, especially the FFCS of VIT is outstanding. I really appreciate it. But I don't know how many students really dig into the subject and see what actually happens, the main motivation is to score well or to crack a high CGPA. Nobody needs a degree to prove their knowledge nowadays, they should have the right attitude towards taking up the course. Also, they should have enough flexibility to change/customize their course according to their interest.

Internships Opportunities

They started offering internships in the middle of my third year, but I'm not sure about the amount they provide.

Placement Experience

4

The placement cell of VIT is pretty good. This is the only thing that makes students real happy at the end of 3 years of engineering. But yes, as the crowd is too much, Many good students get out of the good opportunities. Also, for mass recruitment, the package is not very great. I believe VIT should encourage the companies to offer a better package and take a little less.

College Events

4

I was a part of a disciplinary team and from the name, you can understand I was in touch with almost all the teams over there. One thing is that not many are appreciated to participate in the fests. Even if they come, they sometimes feel intimidated and leave, we should encourage those people to participate as well because in that way at least it will be an overall growth rather than only a bunch of students growing. But yes, planning is needed for that.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for merit students is decent enough I believe but yes I guess they should reduce the no of non-merit seats to avoid encouraging the merit students on the campus. The hostel fee is a bit high because VIT being in Vellore boils during summer and many students can't afford AC in their room because of the cost. So, yes the AC charge should be subsidized a bit so that more students can afford it.

Campus Life

4.5

Diversity, campus life, gender ratio - everything is pretty good i.e I was satisfied with the count. But yes, the quality of sports/competitions is not up to the global level so I believe VIT should concentrate on that. Here I would like to say that the main problem is the no of students, which is pretty high. And we know quality is inversely proportional to count, so it's very much expected the quality to go down.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel facilities and mess food is something I appreciate about VIT very much. Very few colleges in India provide such decent food, in fact, it's more than decent. Whoever can afford special mess, I believe they at least enjoy their daily breakfast.

Alumni/Alumna

It's pretty good but I don't know how they really contribute to the college to growth. But I receive a lot of communication emails from the group.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is a bit stressful in VIT, students are burdened with too many exams. If it was on the new generation of alums I'm pretty sure nobody would have appreciated that. But anyway, I guess the educational board is having their hands on it. So, I

Faculty

4

The faculty of VIT is pretty good. But students don't have a real connection with the faculty because of the crowd. I would like VIT to stress on this matter asap because teacher-student relation is very much needed. For any student to be motivated
