What Students Say
Likes
- The teachers were quite good, especially for the accounts subject. something new everyday and appraise them during events etc. Overall it was a good experience.
- The management were quite helpful. The college provides students chance to learn
- The infrastructure was quiet well maintained however they don't have a campus area
Dislikes
- The admission committee were sometimes rude
- No proper updates about professor's on leave
- Sudden change in faculties and their teaching styles
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum for commerce subject was quite relevant and good including accounting was appropriate. The only subject that was quite irrelevant was EVS and then foundation course, these were irrelevant.
Internships Opportunities
There are some internships that come in sixth semester for marketing or hr or non it based mostly and the stipend starts from 5k ith the duration of 3-6 months. Some companies do offer Pre placement offer
Placement Experience
We do have a placement drive for last year students in the sixth semester probably during February month. Mostly the companies who came for our drives were for sales role or BPO roles and hardly 1 IT based company came. So the placement needs to be improved
Fees and Financial Aid
The initial year fees was 11,700 and the second year was around 12,800 and last year around 14,800 Rs. Yes, it keeps increasing every year. There were some scholarship available like MahaDBT and minority based admission for Kannada Linguistic minority students and also they would get scholarship of some amount.
Campus Life
They do have annual fest named fever pitch where in students' from other colleges participate, we had students from Bhandup colleges and some from kalsekar and anjum islamia in cst. It all depends upon how well the committees plan There are innumerous committees, that everyone can find something of their interest however they lack promotion of these committees to students
Admission
I applied for Mcc however I didn't get the seat and in the third list I applied for this college and got it the very next day. There's no cutoff and that can be a drawbacks for the college. Maybe the cut-off were high and I didn't try in the second list anywhere Admission process is simple, fill the Mumbai University form then college form and pay the registration fees and done
Faculty
1. Yes, the college lacked the faculties sometimes. However, the relationship were good between both students and faculty 2. I cannot disclose the names but again Accounts subject professors were quite professional and good. 3. The initial law faculty in the second year was professional however she left in the middle of our third sem and some new faculty joined and her way of teaching is not understandable considering law is a very tough subject 4. For plain bcom we only have semester exams, they sometimes gave us assignments as well. 100 marks exams all external no internal marks except for elective subject like EVS etc.
Night Life
There is Library available, and near the college we have a public park so over all its quite good since the place is near mulund station like 10 minutes walking distance so students can enjoy hanging around. The locality is in developing stage this I won't recommend students out of mulund to hang out in night
Other Applied Colleges
K.G. Joshi College of Arts & N.G. Bedekar College of Commerce | Master of Commerce [M.Com] (Business Management)
