Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in arts, and Christ was one of the few colleges with the course that i wanted. The course itself was upto date and prepared with careful thought by passionate people. The people i studied with were also passionate about doing this course. The college events were also a great opportunity to showcase these skills to others from the college and from ones outside the college.
Placement Experience
There are no particular placements provided by the college itself, but the teachers do help with students getting a job and even help with respect to recommendation. The teachers have a wide network of people from the same area and are very helpful in helping students get hired. Even the students know each other well and seniors are very approachable and help each other out.
Fees and Financial Aid
Course fee varies from person to person. Students from Bangalore pay about 80000 per year, students from India pay about 100000 per year and NRI's pay more than that. Fee to apply for the course is 1000. Financial aid is available via scholarships for students who do well academically and also for students who do well in sports and represent the college.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is great, with every place having its own designation. There are a LOT of events, clubs that one can join to help build a community for themselves. The library is one of the best things of this place, with a variety of genres and academic books to choose from. Sports and extracurricular activites are abundant, and anyone can join them. There are a lot of student-run social groups for various different things and aspects.
Admission
I had to choose this college as it was closer to home compared to most other colleges and the fact that there were barely any colleges with this particular course. I hadn't applied to any other colleges. for this course, we first have auditions, and then an interview, after which the results will be out. Applicants must be skilled enough to join this course with a certain level of grades completed. My overall admission experience was great.
Faculty
I studied an art course, and the faculty were extremely kind, polite, helpful and enthusiatic about teaching us different things pertaining to the course. I found the english faculty to be very patient and passionate about their subject and course, something that is not easy to find. The psychology faculty however, can be a little hard to work with, considering how much pressure they face from thier seniors.
Night Life
There are a lot of different cafeterias with a wide variety of food for mostly affordable prices. Evening and early mornings are the best times to take a walk around the campus as it is quite and less crowded. Students are free to stay on campus till about 8.30-9 pm. Most of the cafeterias are popular hangout spots. There are also benches placed everywhere for people to sit on outside. There are plenty of shops for almost everything outside the college. The nights are awake, but one must still be cautious.
