Course Curriculum Overview

2

I choose this course since I love machines and was intrested in learning how they work. The course curriculum is kinda outdated but the collage isn't supposed to be blamed for it but rather our university which is KTU. It emphasizes more on theory rather than the actual problem solving skills which are required for the industries and real life. They could implement more real life and industry based aspects to the curriculum. Most students aren't industry ready once they pass out of ktu this is because the curriculum isnt apt. That is why they have to spend another 6 to 8 months in a company as a trainee to understand and grasp the basic knowledge required in an industry

Fees and Financial Aid

Students pay diffrent fees according to the seat they get. Some gets in via NRI seat which is around 70000 Rs per year. Then there are the lapse seats which costs around 50000 Rs per year. Students who have written KEAM or JEE exams will have even lesser fees of around 25000 Rs per year. The 1st years fees was around 55000Rs for me. Uniforms and other services like bus service costs extra. The caution deposit which will be given back to us in the final year is around 10,000 Rs. Also to register for exams each year we have to pay around 2500

Campus Life

5

There is an annual tech fest and mech fest which are a blast. Once during mech fest they brought a Toyota Supra to the collage and last year there was an awesome off-road compitition. The hilly terrain and spacious ground made the compitition challenging. There is a big library with almost every book needed for engineering. Also there are projectors for smart classes.Last years sports meet was held in medical collage ground which was also good. The collage also offers various clubs to join and programs and activities

Admission

I tried applying for mechanical engineering in KMCT engineering collage. But they told me that I had to wait for spot admission to apply but then I found out about MDIT and as soon as I called they told to come and I liked the collage and it's vibe so I decided to join MDIT and ditched my plan to join KMCT. Also KMCT is known for fights taking place inside campus and all but compared to that MDIT seems much more peacefull.Hence I applied for BTECH mechanical engineering in Mdit

Faculty

5

The collage faculty members are very friendly and approachable. Compared to other collages the amount of students are low. (except for computer science since most students opt for computer courses.) Therefore the student to teacher ratio is high which in itself is a good thing because each of us get the individual attention from teachers. Every teacher in my department feels like a colleague as they all are very friendly

Night Life

2

The student union had started working on a gym for the campus and there are already cycling machines. There are 3 cafeterias and each has various delicious food. There are 2 dining halls for eating. Hostel services are also available. Apart from these there are several hangout spots. Each department has their own hangout spots situated somewhere inside the campus. Some of these spots are deep inside and even us 2nd years are still finding out new hangout spots made by our seniors. Also there is a small waterfall outside the campus which we usually go to visit. However the collage isn't safe to be visited at night since various old people can be seen hanging around on the outskirts of collage campus

I will look to get campus placement in a reasonable package or I will try to get jobs by other means.

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. I'll be aiming for higher educations most probably

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placement from the 6th semester onwards. At the conclusion of the second year, the college evaluates all students, allowing only the diligent and deserving individuals to proceed, while others are dismissed. The college provides excellent placement prospects for high-performing students. A multitude of reputable companies actively recruit from our institution, making it a premier destination for career opportunities in Kerala. While assured placement is offered to students with minimal or no backlog papers, others are also placed, albeit with comparatively lower annual packages. Majority of the talented students are placed in Cognizant and TCS Ninja with an average annual package of 10 to 12 lakh. I actually plan to pursue higher studies after Btrch.
