Course Curriculum Overview

4

In terms of relevance of the subject I would give a four out of five. In the first year there are unnecessary subjects which we do not need at all. That's the worst part about our education system. But from the second year the core subjects begin. Some faculty guide you through real world projects while some just give written assignments which are of no use sometimes. The curriculum can be improved by giving more real world based applications instead of just using the textbook. The exams aren't that difficult. Some subjects are.

Internships Opportunities

3

Companies such as IBM, cognizant, Bosch and other such companies visit the campus every year. Other than that many training centres offer internships and training for students. Internship opportunities are available but not much.

Placement Experience

3

The placements are mediocre and need a huge improvement. Even the internship opportunities need a lot a improvements. Most of the graduates either go for masters or join a training centre and get a job through that. My plans after degree is applying for companies off campus or join for masters. The average salary after graduation is 500000.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees which is to be paid under COMEDK quota is 195000, through KCET quota it is 100000 and through management quota for Information Science and Engineering is 300000. I joined through COMEDK quota. An extra VTU fee of Rs 25000 should be paid every year along with the tuition fees. Scholarships like SSP, EWS and SC/ST quota scholarship are available for students.

Campus Life

4

Every even semester a college fest takes place called "Interact". The fest is really good and other college students come to attend this fest. VTU fests also take place. There are also a lot of other events, workshops and sports that take place in the college. The college has a really good library with enough material and books. There are department events too which take place.

Admission

I applied for RNSIT and other same tier colleges. I got this college based on my preference during counseling. One is because I wanted information Science and Engineering and the next reason is because this is an autonomous college and the curriculum won't be as hectic as VTU college. I also applied for RVU but didn't join because of high fees. I wrote the COMEDK exam and that's how I got in. The standard fees for COMEDK quota for all colleges is 195000 in 2023. This is exclusive of the extra fees the colleges ask during time of admission.

Faculty

4

All the faculty members are M.tech graduates and there are faculty with PhDs too. The quality of teaching of most of the faculty is really good. They guide students career wise. They are approachable. There are three internals in total in every sem. And one sem end exam for every sem. The exams are always on time and are never postponed.

Night Life

4

There is a gym and a cafeteria in the college campus. There are separate hostels for girls and boys and food is also good based on what I heard from my hostel friends. Both veg and non veg are available in the hostel. The locality is safe to roam around during night because of constant police patrol.

Placement Experience:

Placements of our college was an average because our college is located in rural area and companies were not ready to come to that rural place but our placement officer used to try very hard in order to help students and get placed in well company. During the last year i.e, 7th semester palcements used to come and depending on our eligibilty we attented the interviews. My plans after the degree completion was to do software courses and join in software company because i did electrical and eletronics engineering.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNSIT are decent and consistent, especially for CS-related branches. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. The placement cell conducts training programs including aptitude tests, coding practice, mock interviews, and soft skills sessions to prepare students. Many reputed companies such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, and some product-based companies visit the campus. The highest package in recent years has gone above 20 LPA (mostly for CS/IT related roles), while the average package ranges between 4–6 LPA depending on the branch. Most offers are for roles like Software Developer, System Engineer, Analyst, and Associate Engineer.
