What Students Say

Likes

I quite liked the infrastructure of the college
I also liked the cafeteria area of the college
I also quite like the hostel and dorm rooms

Dislikes

The exposure is not quite on a respectable level
The placements are a unsure department too
The parking space for vehicles is scarce

Course Curriculum Overview

B tech in computer sciences would look like a hard course at first glance but if you get the jist of it then it's pretty easy too and it feels like too many people are opting for it now a days but you can specialise in any sub form too

Class Size: 25Course Fees: INR 300000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is less for students having their respective reservations and for open category it's fixed also their is management quota which has additional fee requirement and with merit system it's less we can also take admission through the MHTCET

Campus Life

The campus life is ok here not as good as symbiosis of course they have like a event every week whereas our events are a rare occurrence but we enjoy it when there are events like prom garba nights etc

Admission

I think my college has the most student friendly environment compared to others like MIT etc but the infrastructure surely lacks and the hostel is below average as compared to other engineering colleges in pune

Faculty

The faculty members of JSPM are quite good to perform at ground level they help the students of the college regularly and the exam structure is great as well the exams tend to test the practical and theoretical knowledge of a student.

Interview Experience

No I didn't face any group discussion interview or written test for the admission instead there was a mock round and general aptitude interview which is relatively easy to pass and can do so easily and I prepared my notes for this round

Night Life

The night life is not a thing I have the most experience in because I never stayed in the hostel or dorm so it's really up to a guess but I have not heard anything from my friends who stay in the hostels

placements start in 7th - 8th semester . Companies like wipro cisco and TCs etc visit. Average package is 4-5 LPA , and highest I could say 9 to 10 LPA .. my plans would be- if not got high paying job on campus I will try off campus too..

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources

My experience of iiit pune

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements once they enter 3rd year of college. Some notable companies that visit the campus is nomura, walmart, amazon, nvidia and they take 5-6 candidates each while nomura takes 15-16 per year. The highest on campus is 43 lakhs while off campus is around 1.4cr. average package is 14-15 lpa mostly for swe roles. Percentage student getting placed is 50% oncampus and if we add off campus the number goes to 80%. I plan to work in the industry for 2-3 years and then try to go for masters.
