Course Curriculum Overview
1. This curriculum includes the courses related to commerce and it prepares us for the real- world quite well though it needs alot of improvement which includes internships. 2. This course should include internships so that students can work in the real world and gain some practical knowledge. 3. Exams are held 4 to 8 times a year and they are quite difficult.
Fees and Financial Aid
1. Year wise fees is around Rs 46000. 2. Registration fees is around Rs 1200 and admission fees is Rs 23000 per semester. 3. For other courses the admission fee is less than Rs 10000. It is around Rs 20000 for FYIMP. 4. There are various scholarships available for students like the NSP which is around Rs 100000.
Campus Life
1. Annual Fest is conducted once every year named Guwahati University Varsity Week 2. The books and journals available in the library and very easily accessible. 3. Classroom facilities are also quite good but they can be improved. 4. Various sports and extracurricular activities are conducted from time to time and selection on is done for inter University competitions. 5. There are certain social groups run by students themselves.
Admission
1. I applied to Guwahati Commerce College other than this and got a comfirmed admission. Since this is a reputed State University, I chose it over others. 2. The admission process is quite simple. It is based on entrance test which is conducted by the university itself.
Faculty
1. The faculty to ratio can be estimated to be 1:10 and they are quite approachable.The faculty to student relationship is also good. 2. Every faculty is good as they are well qualified and interactive as well. 3. There are in total 4 to 8 exams in a year. Exams are quite easy and sometimes tough. Maximum number of students clear the exams.
Night Life
1. Gym, cafeteria, library and public areas are closed by 9 pm. 2. Hostel in timing is also 9 pm. 3. Famous hangout places inculde the Market area of this university. Yes, the locality is quite safe to roam around as there are security guards and cctv in the campus.
