Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of my course is pretty good and helpful with proper teaching about the subject, it is also helpful for real-life work and activities with proper hands-in skills teaching and theoretical knowledge. But there is a big setback that it is not recognised by the Indian council of agricultural research(ICAR). Recognition by the ICAR will have a big boost in the course and department
Fees and Financial Aid
So for my course i.e b.sc in fishery science, we have a common fee of 16550,software fee of 300, lab fee 6000,refund fee 2000 and one time fee of 200 which brings us to the total of 25450. The fees are the same for all the categories whether may they be general,SC,ST,OBC etc. there are scholarships schemes provided by the NSP(national scholarship portal) and many other scholarship provided by the respective state governments which can be prevailed by the students
Campus Life
There are many clubs in the college which we can join and participate in. The clubs host different programs, activities, events and competitions frequently. There are also NCCs and NSSs which the students can join for their personal growth and to serve the nation and society. There is also a college week every year in which all the clubs come together to host a big week
Admission
I applied into the university of agricultural sciences, Raichur. I got selected there and was invited for admission but I canceled my admission as it was too far away from my hometown. I got selected there for the degree of b.tech in agricultural engineering which I didn't really prefer too as I didn't want to persue b.tech. The admission process was pretty simple for my college as we only had to apply online though the college website and the merit was based on our 12th grade results. In the end they either emailed us or called us if we got selected for admission in the college
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio varies between departments. While some of the departments have high number of faculties, some of them has too less faculty considering the amount of students in the department. Most of the faculties are nice and supportive while there are some who are far too strict and rude towards the students. There is frequent amount of exams, tests, assignments and seminars which is a good thing for regular practice and revision
Night Life
The college begins from the 7 am till 7 pm depending on the shifts of the students. There are three cafeteria, a bookstore cum coffee shop, library, and a gym. There's also a botanical garden and a large central auditorium. Being a catholic institute, there's a church in the college. Most of the students like hanging out around the cafaterias and basketball court. The locality is at the heart of the city so it is pretty safe around. There is a hostel for both boys and girls with both of their entry deadline till 5:30 pm during summers and 5 pm during winters
