This college gives you the right amount of freedom, which helps in students to go out of the box and do something different than others. I applied to iist and got a confirmed addmission but i rejected it due to no scope for aerospace engineering at this moment and the attendance policy which i resent. I got rejected by iiit hyderabad i didn't make it there because I didn't clear cutoffs by 0.25 so I didn't make it. I had a decent percentile in JEE Mains and got a decent rank in advanced too.In the Bitsat I got 278 marks. Apart from these I gave only the ComedK exam and got a good rank there (was getting Rv cse). From the jossaa counselling I got IIT BHU Mining. I applied to various IIT'S and top Nit's including the likes of IIT Bombay, IIT MADRAS, IIT DELHI, IIT HYDERABAD, IIIT HYDERABAD, NIT WARANGAL... AND MANY MORE. The reason I chose bits hyderabad was because it was in proximity to my house and I was getting a really good course in a top college. I applied to various other colleges.But I faced rejection in a few because of cut off issues and I had no reservation. Bits hyderabad was the best option i could find which checked out all boxes and hence I took admission here. To get admission into Bids hyderabad , you have to write BitSAT which is a national exam which is a 390 marks paper. 3 to 4 lakh people attempt the exam. 250 out off 390 is a safe score to get into the college and to get a top branch (like cse, ece or eee) 280 is a safe score...Read More

BITS Hyderabad is quite a prestigious college where students and professors from very diverse backgrounds congregate and contribute to an atmosphere of learning and extra-curricular activities. I didn't apply to any other college as BITS was my one and only choice, as my elder brother had graduated from the same campus. I did get an option to choose other colleges but refrained because of my strong preference for this college. So I technically didn't get rejected from any other college. The admission process is quite smooth. BITS has its own entrance examination - the BITSAT - which enables the students to choose one of the four campuses BITS offers around the country. A 12th board score of 75% is required for eligibility. BITSAT needs a score of atleast 180 out of 390 for minimum eligibility and BITSAT is the only method of admission. I didn't get many other colleges, I was getting colleges like VIT, manipal and almost all colleges via KCET and COMEDK. I didn't crack advanced and felt that for a guy who didn't want to pursue a career in IT, BITS was the best place for me. The admission process is through Bitsat exam which is national level exma happens every year . Approx 3-4 lakh candidates fill this form. The difficultly of exams is little bit easier that jee mains because here speed and accuracy both plays an important role as there are total 130 question which needs to be solve in 180 minutes . subjects are physics , chemistry ,maths , english and logical reasoning....Read More
