Course Curriculum Overview
A structured course dealing with real-world case studies, presentation and overall holistic development. What influenced my decision most is the 2nd language options offered (ranging from Kannada, Hindi, French, German and Sanskrit) Exams and internal assessments are graded with 80% on written part and 20% for notebook submissions
Internships Opportunities
I'm currently in 3rd semester but have heard about companies like EY, Deloitte, JP Morgan, DE Shaw and HSBC among several others. Roles start off as interns and scale up to junior level associates and finally if the tenure is long-lasting can move to senior positions as well
Placement Experience
From 3rd semester end 1-2 companies may come for certain select roles in fields of technology and business operations. However majority of the colleges begin with placements from 5th semester i.e 3rd year onwards. Few students have got the package of 20+LPA, this offer could be by DE Shaw, JPM or Deloitte 80% placement guarantee.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid 75000 for first year and 80000 for 2nd year (approx) Like all colleges, this has a 10% increase per year. Scholarhsip details and merit are based on 12th marks (if above 85/90%) then candidates may be eligible for provisional admission. For manegement and SC/ST category there is a nominal fee reduction of around 5k-20k depending on the forms submitted and the approval of admission in-charge. Courses like Industry integrated and Bcom Professional have the fees starting from 100000 pa subject to increase of 10% in 2nd year and similarly 3rd year/4th year.
Campus Life
Culah is the annual inter college cultural fest generally held from Jan-Feb depending on the timing of internals and other industry visits scheduled. Several intra college fests too throughout the year. Wide range of books available in the library; psychology, english literature, sanskrit, hindi and kannada literature, business management, computers and engineering and lastly a couple of shelves dedicated to fiction. 65+ associations here, everyone can be a part of how many ever they are interested in, would recommend if you're someone really into curriculars with diverse interests
Admission
I applied to several colleges in and out of Bangalore but what stood out to me in this college was the balance of academics along with co-curricular activities (10+ departmental fests per year headed by different associations) Christ university new campus was very far for me so I had to reject that due to distance factor. There is a small aptitude test for MCC if anyone fails to make it to the provisional merit based list. This will comprise few general logical reasoning, maths , english etc followed by a quick interview with parents and student
Faculty
Faculty members are very approachable and ready to clarify doubts with their expertise. The faculty student ratio is 1:30 I really liked the english faculty and communication studies dept faculty because of their kindness yet strong understanding of the curriculum structure. Totally 3 exams per semester, 2 semesters in one year, first 2 are small 30-40 mark tests and last one is end semester examination of 60-70 marks each depending on the stream and subjects chosen
