Remarks
Pros- Infrastructure (Too comfortable) Labs - Very well equipped Library- Lots of books Cateen - Good enough Playground- Excellent Other food- Hotels nearby which provides a better food options. Cons- Strict Rules like wearing shoes, Shirts, ID card, no tight jeans, no long beards - these rules sometimes give you a feeling that you are been arrested for offence. But these are created as per industry regulations which they are focusing on. But i feel there are top college like IIT there tshirt etc anything that student is comfortable with is allowed, which gives students sometime a feeling the college is simply putting up too much restrictions.
Course Curriculum Overview
Since it’s a VTU affiliated college, the course curriculum is dependent on VTU. Also the exam structure. But within the course curriculum there are lot of opportunities provided to enhance your skill and thinking ability. Various laboratories like hands on experience lab, Dreamers lab, Aptra , Microsoft lab etc provide opportunity to explore all the ways if the person is keen to learning. Lots of events are conducted to help students get idea, try and implement like SPSS (Sahyadri Project Scheme) where the students get fully funded from college to implement their projects.
Placement Experience
Placement & Job opportunities are very good when you compared to other colleges in the same level. The reason is because of the placement department headed by Prof. Rashmi Bhandary. Highly qualified for the Placement officer. Gets all possible companies in the campus with the amount of hard work and efforts she puts in guarantees 100% placement to all, provided your good enough. It also depends on students but the placement department gives their 100% to ensure that all the students who deserves get in there.
College Events
Here the college goes on the negative run. Very few events 1) Holi 2) Department day (CS day etc) 3) Arpan (Where we collect by conducting events and donate to poor) 4) Farewell 5) Graduation 6) Sinchina 7) SSTH (Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt) I can remember only these.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible. But due currently due to good placements and improvements in sahyadri might have increased. But it remains same for CET as per rules. Only the management might be expensive. But then they appreciate good students and welcome them with the open arms.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes. There are various scheme provided by government like MHRD, Pre-Metric Scholarship Scheme. Students need to find their way. There is an help team available at the examination department. Also the circular about the scholarship and various opportunities are read in each and every classes so that students can avail the opportunity.
Campus Life
Extra curricular Activities - 1) Aptitude labs where you can practise lots of aptitude questions on the portal provided to each and every student. So that it becomes easier for the students to crack the Aptitude test for placements. 2) Hands on Experience Labs - Where first year students are trained with hands experince on various technologies. 3) SOSC - Sahyadri Open Source Community where all the techy enjoy their free time trying out something new and conducting workshops to help their juniors. 4) Moxizlla Lab - Again similar to SOSC. 5) Dreamers,Aptra,RDL etc -All these are startups at sahyadri. They also help student to gain industrial exposure if the students are really intrested and keen can join them.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a date fixed for alumni, not sure exact but happens every December where the alumni meet happens and all the experiences good/bad are shared to the students. They are quite helpful. Senior students too help their juniors in all possible ways.
Faculty
I’m a person who believes in self learning and for such just a simulation is enough. All the facilities here are qualified. Like in all other colleges in india even the top one’s doesn’t give you faculties you want. There is always a mixture. Sahyadri too follow the same.
