Likes
- The girls to boys ratio is 2:4. The college campus is very clean and well maintained. The workers inside the campus keep the environment clean with regular maintenance.
- The lab facilities are good and the lab instructors are well experienced. The staff both teaching and non-teaching are well mannered.
- There are a lot of club activities like clubs for acting, dancing, musical and photography. There are clubs for Aeronautical and Mechatronics department too where students can work for the competitions and do creative works.
Dislikes
- The skill lab fees which we've paid had no benefits or very less benefits.
- Events conducted in colleges are very less compared to other colleges.
- Some classrooms even though we'll maintained, lack ambience.
Course Curriculum Overview
Since the course curriculum is decided by the VTU, Belagavi and not our college, the courses are updated yearly. The courses are well related to our branch. It also includes range of open elective subjects. The internals are conducted every month and semester exams every 4-6 months.
Placement Experience
The placements are average althought we have 5 students placed in one of the core companies that is Collins Aerospace. Students become eligible from 6 semester. Highest package was 10-15LPA last year and average was 5LPA. Almost 70% of students get placed. Ive plans to do higher studies after getting my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fee I'll be paying is 1.55L. The tution fee is 1.4L and we'll have to pay skill lab fees of 15k Rs every year. We have to pay Vtu exam fees of an average of 1.5k Rs every semester. And then there's branch fees with an average of 1k Rs every year. My other batch mates from other batches pay an average of 1.7L Rs for management and 90k Rs for CET/NEET batches. I get minimum of 20k Rs each for NSP and SSP scholarship.
Campus Life
The overall campus life was fun and the education we recieved was good. We get to experience real fun in the 4th year joining as committee members. Theres club for our dept where all the activities and participation for competitions happen. The cultural events happening in our college are engaging. Every classroom has projectors and are air conditioned. There's decent sports activities in our college, we've a basketball court, a throwball/volleyball court and a cricket court. We have one slot every week for sports. There are two college libraries and are well maintained and resourceful. They have all the course related books.
Admission
I chose this college because it was the only good college for aeronautical engg. in Udupi and Mangalore not considering Manipal. I got in through management and it was a easy process without any hassle. No are no exams conducted by our college for Admissions and theres nothing such as eligibility unless and until youve taken up science in 12th and have no serious cases against you.
Faculty
The faculty members of our college are well experienced and are either PhD holders or have previous experience working in renowned companies. Most of the faculty members are friendly and help us with academics. In aeronautical there is only one class for each batch and every class gets two advisors. The faculty to student ratio is 1:15. We like all the faculties in our department, their names are Dr.Madhanraj, Dr. Sujesh, Dr. Ezhilmaran, Mr. Ajith, Mr. Vishwaretha. These faculties are friendly and well experienced and help us a lot with our academics. However we don't like our HOD much as he does not maintain his standards and neglects students who are less active. We have 3 internals for each semester. The internals are below difficult and above medium. Around 10/55 students from our class fail in difficult exams. The course curriculum is very much branch related and is both easy and difficult at times.
