Course Curriculum Overview

3

The specific aspects of the curriculum that are available are we have an open elective system so we can choose a subject if you want to pursue or do a specialization in. It was an important factor influencing my decision Moot court classes and internal events such as ADR competitions and Client counselling competitions which helps us with real world application. I would suggest real court exposure which usually happens towards senior years. The frequency and timings of exams are quite close and jamp, which is quite difficult for us. Other than that , it it is quite decent the difficulty

Internships Opportunities

3

Mostly there are no stipends offered other than the big companies such as trilegal or khaitan. The roles that offer are for paralegals or research interns. There are other smaller companies which come for internship offers and there is a specific cell within the college which deals with it , but there are no stipends as such.

Placement Experience

3

The semester from its winds become eligible for campus placements is ninth semester. Companies like CAM , SAM , Trilegal do visit us during placement period. Usually we have 15 to 20 offers that are made to students The highest package that has been offered is about 18 lakhs. And the average is ten lakhs Only the top 10% students get placements. Others have to get through their own merit outside placements. My plan after getting degree is too pursue Technology law.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

1st year the fees was 195000 + 5000 for registration 2nd to 3rd year fees was just 195000 4 and 5th year fees would be 215000 This is the fees for 2027 batch from what i have heard the fees has increased for the batched that has subsequently taken admission. 175000 was the fees for karnataka residents. There are multi scholarship some from tata or birla which is based on merit and some christian missionary scholarships for roman catholic students. There are scholarships for students who have really good grades in 12th class i.e 95% and above who get some fees exemption

Campus Life

3

The library is quite vast and we have unlimited access to books and journals. And it is quite comparable to major universities across india We have a moot hall which allows us to stimulate real life. Court cases are moot competitions. We even have amphi theatre An auditorium etc We Have a major sport event called pedagogig league and within law school also we have an event called juristar which is specifically for sports. We have a extra curricular event or cultural event called Darpan and ethinicity day We have student-run social groups called as CSA and within departments also we have clubs for our specific domains in the field and student portrals to make our life easy.

Admission

The other college applied to was army institute of law. The reason why I didn't go to that college was because of the location which is quite a remote place and since Christ is in Bangalore. I had more opportunities here as compared to mohali. The only rejection from other colleges I face was due to exam such as CLAT and AILET Because I was not able to make the cutoff. The eligibility is that you have to clear class 12th. You can use initially have an exam which is online nature. I don't know if it has changed after covid The exam is quite easy. It is basically English, general knowledge and legal knowledge. After the exam, you have an interview with a facility. Who will be checking your knowledge and your Personality and your general compatibility with the course With An extempore to check your speaking skills, there is no specific cut off. The doorly cut off is that you need to be good and speaking and have general aptitude towards the course.

Faculty

3

The student to faculty ratio is quite equitable. If anything and the facultt are quite approachable , except some. Some of the faculty that is approachable is Vetha Philos sir who teaches constitutional and administrative law (subject to change). We have about 4 exams per semester. 2 of them are internal assessments and 2 of them are proper i.e mid-semester and semester exam. The exam difficulty at best is mid. The one people who don't prepare well are the people who fail otherwise It is quite relevant to the course.

The highest paiding would be around 20 to 21 lakh per annum which only maybe 3 to 4 students receive and that would be the tirr one form that come for placements next are the tier 2 firms and these places offer up to 12 to 13 lakh per annum. I wouldn't be sitting for any of these placement because my plan is to go back home and start practicing as an advocate

I'd like to give 10 on 10 for the curriculum. Though subjects year wise could be swapped which could have been beneficial for us in terms of internship but that had already been taken care of from the succeeding batch.

Placement Experience:

Out of all the law schools in India, NLSIU has the best placement so yes that's something to look forward to! Almost all Tier 1 firms come to NLSIU for placements the university has its own campus recruitment committee, and most students bag PPOs. However, the options after college are not limited to this, and many students prepare fr civil services exams or practice as advocates, or go for the judiciary.

Placement Experience:

The placements are quite good. Because, top companies do come and select the students provided that they have to maintain a miminum CGPA and after the interviews they are selected. In the law, the average package ranges from 3 Lakhs and the maximum goes beyond 13 Lakhs. In the third year, the students are required to elect their baskets. The students who have chosen corporate law basket get placed more. Other baskets are also good and the placements are better for them as well. But, the opportunities in the corporate field are more.

Placement for Law are not that willed as other branches of the university but placements exists. However, litigation is promoted here so most students who pass out from here go for litigation. My plans are same too as my maternal uncle is a lawyer and he has promised to support me in and out for that.

The college has a placement cell but it doesn't work well. Few associates and law firms have came to the college till now but couldn't provide a good amount of packages. The students generally prefer off campus placement or independent practice after completing the course. After 4th year which is 7th semester the students apply for placements.
