Course Curriculum Overview

4

overall, i would rate the course curriculum to be relevant one good thing is that the college revises the curriculum and the courses every year making sure the students learn the topics that are the most necessary for the current day industry they also allow students to priotize and choose subjects every semeter

Internships Opportunities

3

internships are provided in a very small number for the students even though the internship requirements are compulsary. we need to find internships by ourselves and hence networking becomes extremely necessary in this case.

Placement Experience

4

Placements even though are better for the technical courses in VIT, the non-technical courses also have a decent amount of placements. there is high amount of competition for placements. there is placement training programs that are provided to the students

Fees and Financial Aid

For an M.Sc in Applied Microbiology, I am currently paying Rs.80,000 per year. Scholarships are not available for the general category and hence I'm unaware of it. Apart from the tuition fee, there is minimal fees that need to be paid.

Campus Life

4

the overall experience in VIT has been fun, vibrant and enriching, providing a well-rounded experience of both academics and fun. the campus conducts both an academic fest (technical based) and an annual fest which gives us plenty of opportunities for fun. the college is extremelt stessful and can get a little depressing in the beginning but it gets better later on.

Hostel Facilities

3

the hostel facilities are average. the rroms are pretty good, they have both ac and non-ac options. the rooms are cleaned every day. but the bathrooms are an issue since they are shared, it has caused a lot of students to have UTIs, each floor has only one common bathroom and washroom. this becomes very difficult during peak college hours. the meals statrt of very good but as time passes the cleanliness of the food drops. the hostes are however afforadable, but if not registered soon enough, the rooms could go out of stock and it gets very diffucult to find room. it gets very difficult to stay in pgs outside the campus since the administeration doesnt encourage it.

Admission

i did apply for various colleges for my M.Sc but i chose VIT for the following reasons- VIT has a strong academic reputation, which aligns with my career goals emphasis on the hands-on experience including the SET projects that each student must do Placement opputunites

Faculty

4

the faculty-to-student ratio in VIT, Vellore is good, this allows for a good relationship among students and teachers, which allows a collaborative learning experience. overall, the relationship between faculty and students is positive. most faculty are approachable and very supportive.

Actually I am currently in seconnd semester right now, I am not sure about the eligiblity criteria for campus placements. But I gathered some informations about the placement process with the help of students who completed their degree here recently. Most of the students having skills in demand based on the company requirements will get selected. Companies with good reputation will visit during campus placements. My aim was to getting placed in a company with good reputation and descent salary package.

From the last previous semester, students can avail themselves of campus interviews. Students who have Harriers are not given opportunities because it's in the companies criteria. Cognizant, Zoho, Infosys, Wipro. Every year at least 10 students get selected. Average is 10,000-15,000 per month 10-15% of students getting placed. I plan to study for competitive exams like UPSC.
