Review about my college

Positive: It is allowing me to explore and work in my area of interest, by loosening the attendance rule. But it can't be in case of all department as mechanical department H.O.D is a great professor and motivate students to choose their path, and not bound them in class. Negative: The labs are not that good. They can have more advanced equipment in labs. The professor is not up to the mark they are good up-to you are preparing for the university end term exam.

The course Mechanical and Automation Engineering is a mixture of three branch Mechanical, Electrical, Information, and Technology Engineering. So the curriculum is designed keeping that in mind. The course mainly covers all the subject of mechanical and it also has some subject of electrical and information & technology engineering. There are few subjects which are combined to make one to cover all the subjects, for eg., Heat transfer and i.c engine is combined but in mechanical core heat transfer is a different subject, the i.c engine is a different subject. The curriculum is wide but keeping the course in mind it is expected. The exam structure goes 2 sessional exams, Internal practical exam, external practical exam, and end term exam in one semester. There is a total of 8 semesters.

Placements are decent and growing every year. Infosys being the largest recruiter. You can see companies coming for MAE students only. Last to last year Amazon came for recruitment. But for MAE Very few companies visit, But yeah they visit. Last year college did not organize the internship fair. But Internship fair was organized in 2017 and 2016, This year(2019) college is going to organize internship fair. You can get decent stipend around 2.5k-5k. But mostly the companies are going to offer you internship to computer science and Information and Technology students. Very few ECE students can also get. But for MAE it is very difficult to get an internship. I had been offered unpaid internship and it was work from home so I have done that.

College fest: Organised every year three-day fest is organized every year in which various inter-college/university cultural competition is held with star night/DJ night is organized. Sports meet: Organized every year, various inter-college/university sports competition are organized. IEEE: Every year IEEE society of niec organize 2-day events where various IEEE projects are shown and events like robo war, etc organized E-Cell Event: Every year E-cell organizes an event where entrepreneurs come and share their inspirational stories. And many more small and big events are organized in college campus

Total fee this year was ?1,07,500/- which is feasible according to me. As the college campus is one of the best in GGSIPU, and Grade 'A' college under GGSIPU this amount is feasible according to me.

You can get loan easily from Punjab National Bank as it is a partner of DR. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of technology(Formerly NIEC). Delhi Govt also has a scholarship scheme for students whose family income is less than ?6,00,000/-. It is divided into three groups. You can check website edistrict Delhi. The name of the scheme is " Merit-cum-Means Income Linked Financial Assistance Scheme of Delhi Higher Education Aid Trust". GGSIPU also has a scholarship scheme for EWS category. Various central govt scholarship scheme for OBC/SC/ST.

The College has various societies Like Dance Society, Singing Society, Theatre Society, Debate society, etc. They are pretty good and win a various medal in inter college and inter-university competition. The college has mainly all sports team like Cricket team, Volleyball Team, Football Team, etc. All sports Team are good when coming to the talk of performance. The labs have basic lab equipment which is required for the award of degree and understanding of concept for students. You can't expect lab big and huge with modern and advanced equipment like IIT/NIT, etc. But for Basic Understanding of concept, they have required equipment.

The college does not have hostel facility. But it has many nearby P.G and if you do not want to take P.G here. Then Kashmere gate is the 10min ride from here. You can also check for G.T.B Nagar near DU. You can get the best deals and it is just 20 min ride from college.

I can't talk much in the alumni network as I am a current student of this college. The senior students are very helpful and when you ask them for help they provide you with a solution. The vibes are positive and there is nothing like ragging and senior showing seniority.

The faculty is great as they always motivate and promote you to choose and start working on your area of interest. There are not any hard rules for attendance you just have to show to the H.O.D that you are not wasting your time and doing something. Not only in studies if you are doing some extracurricular activities then also you are spared from attendance. In terms of teaching the faculty is great for end term exams. They only teach topics that are important or are going to come in end term papers. If preparing for Competitive exams like GATE then you are on your own.
