Remarks

The college management is very good till now and you do not encounter much of problems in management of college and events as the EAM is very organized and efficient.

Entrance Preview

I gave JEE mains in year 2014 and secured a seat NITW for Civil Engineering with a rank of about 4k 5k.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum seems to be good but I didn't compare with IITs but is same as of other NITs, if not, then better than most. The class schedule is perfect and helps the students to well manage various activities other than just studying.

Internships Opportunities

I never applied for an internship but many opportunities are also open for 2nd and 3rd year students to gain workplace experience. Once you complete the required process and qualify, most of the companies offer stipend of about 10k(average) there are also international internships.

Placement Experience

5

According 2014 15 statistics, about 70% students were placed in for Civil Engineering the top recruiting companies were Google, Barclays, BOSCH, Coca Cola, Vodafone, ACC Limited, Bata, Bank of America, Asian Paints, Amazon, Essar, Ericsson, CSC, SanDisk, Oracle, Cognizant, Shell, Saint Gobain, Siemens, L & T Infotech, InfosysDeloitte, J.P. Morgan, Cisco, ABB and many more among all courses.

College Events

5

There are many events celebrated in the campus some of the major events are technozion and Spring Spree besides that Audi Nite and Music Nite are much famous with participation of large number of students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees has to be paid in the beginning of every semester which is approximately about35k if one chooses to stay at hostel as NITW is a publically funded institution its fees is much less than other private institutions.

Fees and Financial Aid

Various scholarships can be availed to continue studies if you belong to a financially backward family however many merit based scholarships are also available you can also avail education loan which has to be repaid once you complete the whole course.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is very good as compared to vaious institutes thanks to extracurricular clubs and events like Techno zion, and Audi nite, etc which are much popular in South India.

Hostel Facilities

4

The common belief is that the hostel food does not tastes good and is not healthy. But the mess facility is of good quality the hostel rooms are available for students who want to stay in campus and enjoy the late night outs and parties the cost of living

Alumni/Alumna

Till now I haven't had and interaction with the alumni network but you seem to find them soon when you complete your course as the alumni network is wide spread among workplaces. And the seniors tend to be very helpful.

Exam Structure

Well, the exams and labs are very frequent, however this pressure is only on the exam weeks and we can enjoy to fullest in other days if one studies at least two hours a day then the pressure becomes absolutely negligible but the lab practicals leaves us

Faculty

4.5

The faculties are well educated and qualified to ensure the success of students in academics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
