Course Curriculum Overview
To be precise, the type of technology and work practice that could be attained from this course attracted me most because of the current trends in technology such as; AI, IoT, Data Science and so on. Another reason was that the curriculum provides equal portions of core and essential courses, and elective courses at advanced levels. Further, the laboratory exposure and project works provide an incarnate learning environment.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am studying B.Tech in Engineering under general quota through the bank loan. The fees structure for the course includes the tuition fees of ? 1,50,000 per year, admission fees of ? 10,000, lab fees of ? 5,000 and one time caution money of ? 10,000 in first year. Another fee that is charged is the annual development fee of ? 5000/- . My batchmates from SC/ST categories, however, pay even less, about ? 50000 for the tuition fee and almost the same miscellaneous charges. The management quota students cover a fee of nearly ?2,50,000 each year.Scholarships available include for Merit cum means.
Campus Life
My college has an annual cultural fest which is named as: *Resonance*, generally takes place around February and the Technical fest is *TechnoVibes* which generally scheduled around September. These events involve assembly of students derived from different colleges for competitions, workshop, and cultural shows thus making them cultures of the colleges. Basically, the library scenario is correct equipped, giving a wide choice of books, magazines, papers and electronic data local. Students are able to read National and International journals, research papers and e-books which makes the academic research more improved. The collection is useful for several disciplines and the library has a digital option for databases for project use. Schools have adopted eighty-nine classrooms to projectors, smart boards, and Wi-Fi potential for modern approaches to teaching learning. The labs are equipped with modern computing equipment and enhanced software to support actual practice. There are following playing fields in the campus football ground, basketball and tennis courts and indoor games facilities such as table tennis and chess. These include music, dance, and drama clubs, among others, where students can exercise after school, and offer value addition to their bookish experiences. Some of the clubs endorsed by students are the *coding club*, *robotics club, *debate society.* A number of these clubs are not only provide extra educational practices, but also improve network and cooperation, thus becoming the great addition to students’ experience.
Admission
I also took my chance with a few other universities such as RV College of Engineering and BMS College of Engineering and both universities have decent reputation in offering their B.Tech programs. From a few of these, I got confirmed admission but I joined my current college because of the following reasons: emergence technology, good infrastructure and easily accessible faculty. Furthermore, classes contained fewer students than courses at my previous school; to me, it was the main advantage since it means more contacts with teachers. I was rejected by RV College coz of a slightly low rank in the entrance exams not meeting cutoff requirements for RV College. I think competition and higher cutoff marks were somehow a problem to me, but I did get the right college of my desired career path. I remember that my admission process in my college was so easy and smooth. For the eligibility criteria, the candidate has passed class 12 ^{th} with minimum 45% aggregate percentage in PCM i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The recognised exams are KCET, COMEDK and JEE Main among which KCET is the most preferred by the students. During KCET the cut tooff ranges between 15,000 to 30,000 according to the branch. From the administration side there was good communication and the online application process for this program was swift.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio at my college is around 1:60, which allows for personal approach. Professors are mostly available and students can always ask him or her questions whether in the classroom or not. The most interesting to me was a professor of Computer Science, Deekshith sir; he is very observant and patiently explains the problem, often answering questions and doubts. He is able to relate real life examples to the theories which makes the subject so interesting. The next great professor is Dr. aryalakshmi, she also loves teaching and is very encouraging. They take either internals and finals, and the total number of exams per semester depends on a number of course contacts hours. They are somewhat hard, almost equally difficult for the theoretical and practical level. The social issue would be that despite many students passing these exams, a fraction of about 10-15% might not make it. The coursework is rather related but it could be revised even more often to suit current trends in technology.
