Course Curriculum Overview

3

The clinical exposure and theoretical knowledge is top notch in our curriculum. The application based teaching is what attracted me to this course. We are systematically prepared to see and help patients. But some irrelevant parts of the curriculum can be trimmed to reduce the load on students. Exams are very frequent Almost once every fortnight.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college is labelled as self financing under the Tamilnadu government. It has 3 Quota based on fees. Govt Quota - 65% seats (native of TN only) It's fees is 4.5 lpa Management Quota - 20% seats It's fees is 13.5 lpa NRI Quota - 15% Fees being - 23.5 lpa More over there is a additional fees of 1lpa each year. There is no caste wise concession from side of college but you can try to avail the Govt. Therefore the entire course fees is Govt. 30 lakhs Management - 75 lakhs NRI - 1.2 cr.

Campus Life

4

The annual cultural fest takes place in month of May while the Research fest called AXON happens around the month of September. The students have absolute blast as there are numerous dancing , singing, filmmaking and theatrical events. Axon is popular in whole state. Recently the cultural club has been opened in the college which is growing rapidly popular. The library is well equipped with latest medical journals, reference books and magazines. The college also has 3 big grounds , several badminton and tennis courts and one indoor stadium. The scope of sports is significantly better than any other college in Tamil Nadu.

Hostel Facilities

3

I opted for hostel in the campus. My room is a non AC room with attached washroom. The cleaning staff are provided on demand and laundry facility is also open to avail. Though the laundry is not up to the mark. The meal quality is very Average, the south indian dishes are served 4 times per day. The options of non veg is also available in the mess. Overall it's a satisfactory mess. The fees is pretty expensive for the service and rented accommodation can also me considered.

Admission

This was the best option available to me based on My Neet marks. This college has the best infrastructure, faculty and facilities required to do MBBS. The reputation of the college was also a key factor. I got this college through Tamilnadu state counseling after clearing NEET. The cutoff of the college is generally 15-20 marks less than the cutoff last Govt college of Tamil Nadu. You can look up the Tamil Nadu counseling website for proper procedure to apply. If you have scored more than the cutoff off the admission procedure is very smooth. I did most of my counseling online and got the documents verified once I came to the college.

Faculty

4

1:35 is our teacher to student ratio. Most of the faculties are helpful and approachable. They are very keen on teaching and sharing their experience. The department of biochemistry and physiology were Great and conducted best classes. I loved attending them. But some teachers of biochemistry and anatomy were very rude and moody. And kept random tests. The exam are very frequent and it gets hectic at multiple times. Almost every second week we have a test

Course Curriculum Overview:

It deals with patient care and clinical diagnosis along with hands on training the influenced my decision to take up this course. Through ward postings, history taking and case discussion it prepares me well for my PG exams and further future pursuits. Skill based learning should be emphasised more along with small group teaching. Sometimes the close spacing of exams can be very stressful. Difficulty level is appropriate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.

Placement Experience:

The students in their internship will get around 35000 per month excluding their mess fees, they have the option to opt out of the mess. And once they finish their internship they had to do two years bond in places where the colleges allot them and the salary for those two years will be decided by the place the person goes and itll be definitely more than what they get during internship.
