Course Curriculum Overview

5

The syllabus is very vast for the 1st yr mbbs and 2nd yr mbbs. I need to push myself to pass the exams. The teaching from this institute is very helpful to give your best at university exams. The practical classes will be very interesting and hands on experiences with Mannequin's are provided. General ward classes are taken, we learn from patients during ward rounds.

Internships Opportunities

5

There are many research opportunities available, the faculties will help you in research activities. They provide access and topics for ICMR research projects. After final year of MBBS, you should do a compulsory Rotatory internship for one year. The stipend that is given for the internship is around Rs 3000 per month, which is very less.

Fees and Financial Aid

For MBBS (Yearly) Government quota: Tuition fees-4,50,000 Development fees-10,000 to 15000 Management quota: Tuition fees-13,00,000 Development fees-10,000 to 20000 NRI quota: Tuition fees-25,00,000 Development Fees-15,000 to 30,000 SC/ST quota (7.5% reservation) Tuition fees-by government

Campus Life

5

The campus life here at PSGIMSR is peaceful. When you go for a walk inside the campus, you will feel so calm and warm inside the college because they have many trees along the sides of the roads and the weather at Coimbatore will always be cool that makes you feel alive. The campus will be so comfortable for anyone. The walks around the campus, such a stress relief. A central library is present in the college which is pretty large and they have all kinds of medical books, journals, magazines, and some kind of novels related to Medicine. They've got a e-library too from which you can access and download e-books through computers. They conduct annual sports events, Cultural events and they provide fund and take us to inter medical college events every year. They also organise National level conferences, workshops, and research activities. There are many student clubs like club Utsav, which includes Dance and Orchestra. Book club, YRC, NCC and research facilities are also available.

Admission

I did choose this college over other colleges because this college is the number one in private colleges across Tamil Nadu and this is the best college after MMC in Tamil Nadu. This college is an institute, which runs partly by central government. The fees is also comparatively less among the other private colleges in Tamil Nadu. The cut-off for this college is very high. You should take more than 500 out of 720 in the NEET UG exam. For self financing quota, Cutoff will be around 590 - 610. For management, it will be around 530 to 540. For NRI quota it will be minimum 500+ marks. I did apply other colleges like KMCH Coimbatore, Trichy SRM medical College, but my first choice was PSGIMSR, and I got the same in my first round of counselling.

Faculty

5

The faculties are very kind and knowledgeable. The teaching standards are very high and productive. The faculties make the difficult topics easily understandable. The faculty to student ratio is 1:25 Only one university exam is conducted for each year at the end of the year. 3 major internal exams are conducted before each university exam. Based on these internal exams, eligibility to appear for university exam is decided.

Night Life

5

Night life inside campus will be super cozy. There are many gyms available near college. There is a gym available at college, which is best and cheap. There are many cafes and restaurants available around the college within 3km radius. There are many restobars and pubs near college. The night life here will be amazing. You will have a great time of your college life. Hostel intime is 10 PM. There are no campus in and out timings. It is very safe to roam around during night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a vast course and it needs lot of patience and perseverance, you can enjoy a lot but keep a eye on your academics as well, so that you don't lag a long way at the end of the year. This scope is a noble one, as everyone knows, that's why I choosed this. During the course, you will be physically and mentally be prepared to tackle work load and handle stress. They have shifted 2 subjects from pre final year to final year, we are the upcoming batches for the new curriculum, so I don't know that how this will impact this i.e, in a better way or not. Finally about exams, it may cause nightmare, study regularly so that you will come to know the questions atleast once, plan accordingly to tackle the exam. Have a calm mind it will help you a lot, explore more things in the due course. All the best guys

The students are eligible for placements from the third year. Most of the top organizations require our students and the students can also be placed in our own hospital CMC. Mostly all of the students are placed here. Averagely they gain 50k per month. My plan after my degree is to do masters in my own institution.
