Course Curriculum Overview

4

The syllabus included the core subjects, theoretical subjects, practical subjects, but the main thing i liked in the curriculum was that important subjects like communications skills were also included which plays an important role in shaping our personality and clearing an interview for job perspectives. This subject prepares us for real world, as communication is really essential in our daily life. To improve teaching methods, smart boards and latest technologies need to be used which our college lacks. Students should be given proper bream in between the classes to freshen up their minds.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a student of Guru Tegh Bahadur 4th Centenary engineering college, currently in first year pursuing B.Tech CSE(core). My colleges comes under GGSIPU, which is a very prestigious university in delhi. I got admission in this university on the basis of my JEE Mains rank. My college is one of the top colleges in IP university. The total tuition fees is 4.15 lakhs for the complete degree, i.e. 4 years. After including other expenses, the total fees comes around 6 lakhs for 4 years, which is a very affordable amount for a degree like B.Tech. The staff is very cooperative, supports us with our academics doubts and personally life problems as well. The registration fees for the GGSIPU form was 1500 rupees. The tuition fees remains almost same throughout the years. For SC, ST and OBCs there is a reserved quota in GGSIPU which offers them a secured seat at a very low rank. All the scholarship schemes available at the government site for a college going student are available in our college. The campus area is a bit less, but we have become used to it. Our college management is very supportive and they ensure us good job opportunities after completing our course. All the seniors are helpful, supportive and friendly as well. All the classrooms have a proper air conditioner. All the basic facilities like water cooler, hygienic washrooms are available on each floor. Overall my university and college is recommendable for juniors.

Campus Life

3

The annual fest of GGSIPU "ANUGOONJ" takes place every year, in which students showcase their talents in every field. It provides a very good opportunity for students to showcase their skills in fields other than study. Most books are available in the book bank of our college. There is an annual sports meet in our university every year where all colleges of IPU contest with each other. The infrastructure of our college is not that good but it is ok. The campus size is a bit small, but our college has tie-ups with other schools and sports complex for some sports. There are many clubs and societies present. Anyone can join those if interested.

Admission

I wanted to take admission in Maharaja surajmal institute of technology (MSIT) which is a top college of GGSIPU but couldn't because of my jee rank. After MSIT, all other college like GTB, BVCOE, BPIT have the same placements so i chose GTB. The admission process is very easy and it takes place on the GGSIPU website. The exam accepted for admission in this course is JEE Mains only.

Faculty

4

The faculties are very cooperative, they clear all our doubts in the class itself but if any doubt is unanswered, or any other doubt aries, the faculties are easilby approachable either in their respective cabins or in the staff room. I like all my teachers as they are very friendly. They make sure that we learn major things in the class itself. They also take doubt classes on demand. I like my physics teacher the most because she explains each concept deeply and majority questions are within their notes. There are 2 mid terms in each semester and one end term exam, i.e. Final exam. There are total 8 semesters. That means 3 exam terms in each semester. A few students fail to clear the exams so they have a back for the exams they couldn't clear. They are also provided with a second chance which is known as a supplementary exam. The course curriculum is according to GGSIPU which is very precise.

Students after completing third year are eligible for placement. Placements start before starting of fourth year, and it requires students to have no backlogs in any subjects. However companies can imply their own rules to filter the students such as minimum CGPA criteria. But placements of our college is one of the best placement for a non-IIT college, despite having so many student intake.

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, average package goes from 5lpa to 10lpa. Highest it has went 84lpa in Amazon so far and can for sure grow in future. 7th semester students become eligible for placement drives and companies like amazon, microsoft, newgen, tcs, ibm, etc are major recruiters here. Around 80% students do get placed but you can definitely be among them by refining your skills and maintaining a good cgpa. I plan to go for off campus placements as well as I'm interested in AI related roles but hoping for even better.

The placements are fantastic , many companies like google amazon and FAANG companies come here . Although i cant compare it with top IIT s but still a 25 lakh per annum package in CSE is still remarkable. The placement cell is often influenced by Placement coordinator but then DTU takes action against them and debar them from placements . If one does not get placement in DTU. , the DTU tag will obviously be more than useful in after course placements

Highest package for the last year was more than 1 crore. Avg package is somewhere between 7-9 lpa. 50-60 % students get placemnt from the college including off campus placements. I plan to either start my masters or join a good job if possible as whatever situation arises at the end of my course at this college.
