Course Curriculum Overview

3

being absolutely honest i chose the course for it being a good university and it being a computer related course i had to choose the course in VIT the course prepares us for real world applications such a way that we can attack on both software side and essential for hardware as well and so yes the real life is also pretty well and teaching methods can be improved in a lot of ways such as teaching not only reading the slides out but explaining and applying it in real life can be implemented and for exams we have monthly a week for exams so the gap is like okay for starters so the first mid semester exams are medium in difficulty and the second mid semester exams are difficult and the final semester exam is adequate for the total syllabus given

Internships Opportunities

2

Internships are pretty hard to acquire in this college because out of the 3500 applicants only hardly 50 get selected so the internships in VIT are pretty hard to get in to the companies which offer internships are linkedin and D E shaw and jp morgan and goldman sachs as an intern itself the projects required are a good cgpa and should pass the test conducted by the company the projects being mainly websites and it's management

Placement Experience

4

from 7th semester the student gets eligible for placement so the hassle start from there and the companies visited are : google microsoft amazon apple motorq jp morgan schneider and many many more companies have came to the university to recruit and in number 867 companies have come and around 4000 students have been placed in this college so around 80 percent of the college is placed and the highest package this year being 88 Lakh per annum and my plans being to sit in the placements d well

Fees and Financial Aid

fees depends upon the rank that we get in the viteee examination depending on that there are categories i.e: category 1 for CSE Cuts off at 1-150 ranks exactly for which they have to pay 1,98,000 and category 2 ranks up to 200 - 1000 for which they pay 3,06,000 per year and category 2000-7000 for which they pay 4,00,000 an year and 10000-15000 rank pay 4,45,000 and later up to 25000 rank come in category 5. who pay 4,92,000 a year excluding hostels this is based on the open category student and his rank for cse and the financial aids in the college is low only the tamil nadu state toppers and other state toppers have their college fees reduced by 50% by the category 1 fees

Campus Life

4

there are 2 fests in total the big ones namely Riviera and Gravitas for them being annual and tech fests respectively the feat riveira is held in the months of february and the fest gravitas is held in september and the availability of books are pretty good considering the amount of footfall the library receives in a day so the amount of books necessary are in quite a number so it is sorted there and to the facilities for faculty in the classes are a projector and a respective board to it and a speaker set for lesser voiced faculties and regarding the sports facilities it is actually quite good for each having a lot of space and facilities attached to it and there are many groups i the college and it has a pretty good impact on both student and college

Admission

i have applied to numerous colleges and i have chosen this college for their word of mouth being a reputed one and with a good roi it being i've picked VIT university and i've been rejected by manipal university MIT manipal considering the rank i've got 4211 for computer science it being low and many colleges the same thing the rank being low for the college requirement and the course i wanted so i couldn't apply so the eligibility being 65% in pcm boards and viteee rank below 50000 atleast to get in the college in any of the course

Faculty

2

1 faculty takes over 70 students per class and the same faculty would have an evening class for the same subject so another 70 and he takes other subjects as well so each faculty deals around 300 students at the same time considering the courses taken are computer related and the teacher student relationship is pretty thin id say only if you pester them they would remember you and the faculties you know wherever there might be there's good there's bad there's ugly so depends on the teacher but there are more of black listed teachers to good ones and about the exams we have 3 exams 2 mid semester ones and one semester which one of the mid semester is an open book exam but the questions are of HOTS(higher order thinking skill) questions the course curriculum is designed pretty well to the course the student is doing so that is clear and concise

For campus placements students of the 4th year or 7th semester are the eligible ones. Multiple companies like zoho, apple,TCS,CTS, accenture etc have come and multiple small companies too. But the intake for the big and reknown MNCs were low from abt 2-3 candidates only.the placement here is 100% but the companies may vary.My future goal is to go for a government official stream after I finish my masters abroad.

From 3rd year itself a student become eligible for campus placements and some of seniors got ino flipkart like companies. So the college is good at placement. In any colleges, due to college the student can't only be placed, their skills, talents, communication is more important to get placed so based their knowledge the students get placed. only thing college need to do is getting good companies with package and our college also provide it.
