Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum as been planned by NMC includes different stages of advancing difficulty to ensure an overall enrichment of a student. This curriculum allows us to be updated with all the necessary techniques and ways to conduct proper medical care.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for my college increases and is in matching with tht of other medical colleges which come under the jurisdiction of Baba Farid Medical College. The year wise fees paid by me 4.5L per yr and there is a 10? increase every year over this. I avail the semi govt quota as of now but my college has a case going on in the supreme court to remove this quota. The complete tution fees paid by me would be 21L. We pay an approx 2L fees for hostel and above that we have internet, admission and other such charges on us. My other batchmates which come under Management quota pay an avg fees of 10L per yr +10? increase every yr. A total approx of 55 L. There are no merit or financial aid scholarships available as of now.

Campus Life

3

Our college has a yearly fest named INFERNO ( in October) and also freshers for the incomin batch. Other than this every batch is free to organize outings outside the college. We have a library with all the books and journals for each year. On student level there are many such clubs such as Book club to promote other aspects other than studying. Football and cricket teams are also on the beaming fronts.

Hostel Facilities

3

Every student gets an individual room with shared washrooms and a 2 person shared balcony, basic amenities such as bed, almirah, table and chair. Student is free to decorate their room howevee they like. Some electronics are not allowed such as heater so care must be taken. For AC installation extra charges must be paid. The meals are decent although i personally order dinner from a tiffin service for taste purposes.

Admission

I had a domicile of punjab as I had studied for my 10th and 12 th in punjab. It was the best option for me because of the language too, it helps to be proficient in the local language to converse with the patients. Also this college comes under Baba Farid Medical College, thus allows me to avail th Punjab domicile for my PG selection as well.

Faculty

4

Our college has a pretty decent faculty to student ratio where in a lecture hall the professor is able to address a good amount of kids. For practicals the batch is being divided so that each student gets a chamce to interact in the sessions. Our curriculum is totally NMC approved and at the end of each year we have our prof exams which are taken by each student, 50? being the passing criteria. If one fails, they are given another chance by sitting for the supply papers which happen within the next 10 days of result.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum “is well-planned … as per NMC (National Medical Commission) guidelines.” Practical classes are included daily alongside theory. “practicals are also included each day along with theory classes.” The AETCOM (Attitude, Ethics, Communication) component is explicitly mentioned, which is good because it shows attention to non-technical competencies. there are 4 levels of exams in a year — mid-terms, “send-ups,” etc. Some students feel the curriculum is stressful.

The most fascinating thing is to know about the our body which works in a very complex manner and to understand the mechanism of working in our daily routine and they fascinate me to choose this course and well-being of the society and the people to cure the humanity and our college is the humanity service equality some of the teaching methods that is to show more practically along with the theoretical part would be quite more fascinating and interesting in this course and the frequency of the test and the exams which will be taken in our college is best as we can study because of that exams and prepare beforehand for the finals.
