Remarks

2 years ago in my view it is neither a very good Institute nor a bad Institute. good faculties are very rare..timing are such that it is almost impossible to keep on with timing ...also the scorching summer and chilling winter add a new cause to dislike the place the temperature difference from summer to winter is about 37 degree celsius year is full of fests .very good environment & peaceful place..If u r looking for a good college then you should opt for other nits or drop one year and go to IITs. one thing at last it doesn't matter where you are studying if you have knowledge you will definitely succeed.. NEVER LET YOUR DREAM DIE!! - a frustrated nitian

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Exams are really tough and they test the student knowledge. They just don't test the memory but also the analytical skills of the student. But the only problem I face is there are no preparation holidays in between and all exams are conducted in a row.

Placement Experience

4

One of the worst INIs. Poor placements, lethargic and sadistic profs, unfriendly administration, reckless course design are the part and parcel of first year. No idea if the near 3 years would be far more worse. Just hoping to stay afloat the 7 cgpa. Regretting very much about getting here through JEE Main.

College Events

3.5

Innovision is the annual techno-management fest of National Institute of Technology Rourkela. The festival is traditionally held over three days and three nights in the first week of November. Organised by the student body of the institute, it is a place where technocrats gain hands-on experience and enhance their technical skills. Various engineering-based, science and technology-based competitions, guest lectures, workshops, exhibitions and demonstrations serve the purpose. A myriad of gaming icons and it's vibrant decorations amidst the enthusiastic crowd lights up the campus during the three days of the fest

Fee Structure And Facilities

Tuition Fee(annual) – Rs 12000 for B.Tech, Rs 7500 for M.Tech/M.Sc, Rs 50000 for MCA and Rs 5000 for PhD. Other Fee (including lab and examination fees) – Rs 4000 for all. Institute Development Fee(annual) – Rs 10000 for B.Tech, Rs 5000 for M.Tech/M.Sc, Alumni Fee(paid in final semester) – Rs 500. And yes it is very expensive indeed

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes loan facility is availed by me . as the fee is really high I prefer loan and they don't make it really tough to apply for it. They finance department is very transparent. I have my self seen the complete details of loan applied and they have really good administrators.

Campus Life

4

The extracurricular activities are mostly seen as there is nss and physical education mandatory for first years. There are many clubs like spawn,Microsoft, rithvik, udaan which may help student to excel in academics whereas clubs like third eye and cinematics involve photography. Gender ratio is very much good as it will be 10:7 boys: girls.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes alumni is of a great help for us. People like venkata narasimhan peri has funded us 30 lakhs and is very much helpful for developing institute. Seniors are harsh in the first but due time they become friends and they are really helpful in academics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.
