What Students Say
Likes
- Lots of seminars to raise awareness on important topics and to critically analyse on topics that the students or community should know to take the nation forward
- Workshops on skill training such as Home wiring and electrical circuits, processing of banana fibre to make bags etc which the students can sign up
Dislikes
- Don't have the best scientific equipments for laboratories/practicals
- No flexible timing and availability of bus.Confined to one bus trip for all the day scholars which is absurd, when im paying for my bus fee but have to spend my money to go back home since my classes end early and can't wait for 2-3 hours for bus
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, the curriculum had 0 impact on my decision like most students do? Like i said the curriculum has a good blend of all the topics a physics should should be good at and has a healthy number of important practicals as well to prepare us for the real world Well, i would adopt a modern method of teaching using slides and videos in a projector instead of the classic white board and pen especially for the topics of physics which require images and well drawn images and processes to fully understand it The frequency of exam is low.
Internships Opportunities
Not aware of it as of now, but most internships lasts only for months and not permanant. They are mostly offered to students during their semester break as a part time job and don't necessarily earn from it, but rather an experience to gain skills and knowledge to prepare them for the real world
Fees and Financial Aid
We pay semester wise so for students doing B.Sc, it's usually 28K per semester including the admission fee for a new year. There's no fee reduction for SC/ST whatsoever because our college is in an ST dominated area; Nagaland.
Campus Life
We have lots, to name a few, literary day, annual movie screening day where the department of mass communication produce their own short film and hold a 3 day screening fest, inter departmental talks etc We have a plethora of books which spans over a large building Most of our classrooms only have a blackboard/whiteboard and chalk/marker. Our college has 5-6 clubs which include Drama club, art club, reading and writing club etc which boosts interactions and productive brain storming sessions.
Admission
I didn't apply for any college, I just applied for this college and got in. Our admission process is very easy since they only require our HSSLC marks as the criteria for selecting students and as far as I'm concerned, no examination marks like CUET are applicable since they only judge you on your HSSLC marks
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio depends department wise, but for BSC Physics the ratio is around 1:5 teacher to student ratio since we have low enrollment of students in the science department and this holds true for other department which includes zoology, maths, chemistry etc. as for the Arts department, the ratio increases drastically. The faculty are very approachable and we maintain a healthy level of respect with one another. As for the exams, it is on the medium level difficulty and i'd sat atleast 30%-40% in the science department fail. The course curriculum is well made to facilitate both the theoretical and experimental aspects of physics
