Entrance Preview
I wrote IIT JEE in 2011 and scored 200 marks out of 484, hence missed cut off by some 30 marks. In BITSAT, scored 240 marks and hence couldn't get BITS Pilani or BITS Goa, so couldn't join BITS. I wrote other exams like Assam-CEE and got 47th rank, but since I didn't like the colleges in Assam, I didn't join any college there. I gave VITEEE Examination in 2011 and scored All India Rank 1907. As I didn't want to repeat IIT JEE, I went to VIT counseling, and luckily got Mechanical Engineering there. As the fees were affordable, I opted for this college.
Internships Opportunities
The companies which came for internship for Mechanical Engineering branch ware Saint-Gobain and Mahindra & Mahindra. But, I opted to do an internship at Indian Oil Corporation, where I got to learn a lot practically. The stipends offered for the above-mentioned campus internships were Rs15000 per month. In addition, Companies like Deloitte, Microsoft offer internships for other branches like IT, CSE. They offer stipends in the range of Rs15000-20000.

There were core companies which offered CTC of 9-10 lakhs per annum. Those were Applied Materials and KLA Tencor. Noncore dream jobs were offered by companies offering data analyst job profiles. The companies were Latent View, IMS Health. In the case of other branches, companies were Microsoft, Deloitte, Dell, Akamai, Schneider Electric which offered CTC in the range of 10-14 LPA.

Two festivals are held every year. The technical festival is called Gravitas, where technical competitions, quizzes are held. Many neighboring colleges participate in Gravitas. The cultural festival is called Riviera. A lot of colleges take part in this festival. There are events ranging from sports, gaming to dance competitions, and DJs. All VITians look forward to this event.

The campus life is very good in VIT. Students have a wide range of options regarding extracurricular activities. Tennis courts, football field, cricket field, Table tennis rooms are present inside the campus. There are clubs for dramatics, robotics, automotive clubs. The students are very tolerant of gender, ethnicity, religion, etc.

Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are very helpful. In VIT, the anti-ragging policy is followed strictly. The senior students help the juniors in all the ways possible; by advising them about careers, offering their old books, etc.
Exam Structure
The exams are conducted frequently. Theory subjects have 3 quizzes, 2 CATs, and a term-end examination each semester. The quizzes and CATs have a 40% weightage in the final marks. The grades are awarded on a relative basis.
