Course Curriculum Overview
Legum Baccalaures or LLB is a very fascinating course as it helps us to understand the working of Indian legal system. Law taught at the university will definitely prepare you for judicial exams but for private practice you will have to work as an intern for some year. Universities can work more on providing practical knowledge rather than just book craming the subjects.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Fees structure is very low. For LLB at Jammu University you need to pay around ?14000 for 1 year. It becomes around ?50000 for 3 years. However if you are a physically disabled candidate then you need to pay just ?500 for an year.
Campus Life
There are different festivals which are celebrated in our university . University has a big central library commonly called as Dhanvantri Library. Apart from that each department has its own library. Sports competitions are held regularly. Sports include cricket, basketball, badminton, kho kho , kabbadi , volleyball etc. there various social groups and clubs which any student can join .
Admission
I didn't apply to other colleges as university of Jammu was my first priority. I have to work in Jammu High Court after my LLB so it seemed better to study and establish connections in Jammu . Students need to give Cuet - PG and clear the cutoff i.e around 150 to get an admission in my department.
Faculty
Faculty members of University of Jammu are highly qualified and possess a lot of knowledge in their respective fields. Faculty members are very approachable and u can ask ur doubt anytime. There are a total of 6 subjects in each semester of LLB 3 year. Besides these exams there are presentations of each subject , 3 moot court in entire course and one viva in each sem. Around 50-60% students clear these exams in one go.
