Remarks

I completed my LLB from Dogra Law College. The college is quite good and is pretty famous for its quality education. I learnt many things and picked up quite some skills from college. My overall experience was quite good and I get to learn and enjoy a lot here.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course is prescribed by Jammu University as the university provides the college with affiliation. Being a semester-based course, in LLB examinations are held twice each year at respective semester ends. College also holds internal evaluations regularly to check the preparation of students.

Placement Experience

4

The placement of the college is quite good. The college also has a placement and counselling cell under name of Dogra Educational Trust which works for guiding students and placing hem in renowned MNCs, Law Firms and under good lawyers.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for first year of my LLB was around Rs. 40,000 to be paid in instalments within the year. The fee for subsequent years was around Rs. 30,000. The total fee for the 3 year course duration of my LLB was Rs. 1.10 lakhs. I found the fee to be quite feasible and affordable.

Campus Life

4.5

Around the year, the college holds multiple workshops, seminars and competitions for students. The college has a good moot court for providing real courtroom experience to students and help them train, practice and learn better for real scenarios. The college also has an in-house shooting range, students from Dogra law college have participated earned many gold medals in various shooting events. Apart from that, the college also has a good library for students to lend books from, for their studies.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The college provides good hostel facilities well-furnished hostels both for boys and girls separately with spacious and comfortable rooms to live in. The girls' hostel is situated within the college campus and the boys' campus is located at a walking distance from the college. The hostel mess serves healthy and hygienic food. The hostel has some strict regulations applied for the security of students.

Admission

The admission to the college is strictly based on the merit list of the Jammu University Entrance Test( JUET ). I also got admission through this process, I luckily got a seat for my LLB in this college through counselling. The admission process was quite decent and time-saving.

Faculty

5

Faculty is very helpful and calm. They are having good skills and knowledge of respect to their field. They motivate students in many ways. Faculties helped us a lot in our studies and also toward our carrier.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Legum Baccalaures or LLB is a very fascinating course as it helps us to understand the working of Indian legal system. Law taught at the university will definitely prepare you for judicial exams but for private practice you will have to work as an intern for some year. Universities can work more on providing practical knowledge rather than just book craming the subjects.

The students become eligible in the last semester as it creates a sense of employment in the students. The students are placed in various districts and high courts to make them experience the work of the field they are going into. After the course completion, the students are placed in various legal companies where the packages start from 3 lac to 10 lac per year. The students are placed in various companies on the basis of eligibility criteria. My plans after completing a course are to go for further studies.
