IIIT Allahabad review

Some subjects like DBMS, OOPS , Operation system , computer networks , data structures and algorithms which are taught in IT branch are asked in interviews. If we perfectly make notes and learn these for semester exams we can easily ace interviews. Course curriculum is very hectic leaving no time for stidents to even breathe. It leads to stress and anxiety.

Many companies like google, goldman sachs, oracle, arcesium, cultfit, unifyapps, atlassian, de shaw etc visit campus for internships. Mostly they come to hire for swe/sde roles. More number of companies come for fourth year placements.

Quite a good number of companies visit campus and tge number varies year to year. Internship drive starts from third year and students around 80 to 100 secure summer internships. More companies come for fourth year placement.

So the fee structure depends on the category that you belong to. I pay around 2 lakhs every year. For general/ obc students, fee will be around 2 lakhs. But for sc/st fee its around 55000-60000 annually. There are various scholarship schemes available on nsp.You can apply by checking your eligibility. Institute too provides scholarships based on merit and income.

Infrastructure is quite good.Campus is well maintained and cleanliness is ensured. There are three annual fests. Effervescence is the annual cultural fest, aproksha is the technical fest and asmitha is the annual sports fest. There are different clubs for students to participate.

Hostel facilities are not that great. There is no single room allocation for girls since there is lack of space. We have to be in sharing till fourth year.But in case of boys the scenario is little different. They get single rooms in fourth year. Mess food is terrible. Hostel facilities are affordable.

During josaa counselling, I choosed to put IIIT Allahabad at the top because I heard that overall placements are good.I applied for NIT warangal cs too but couldn't get it because of rank cutoff. So I proceeded with IIIT Allahabad.

Some professors are very good.Their teaching quality is top notch while some dont teach well and lack teaching skills. You can approach the faculty for doubts. But no matter how good the professor is we have to put effort from our side to score well. Some of the best faculties here are vijendra singh , navjot , saurabh verma etc.You will mid sem and end sem examinations. Many students fail in Maths subjects like linear algebra etc. Some subjects are of no relevance but there are some which are relevant for your placements and interviews
