The course curriculum for an integrated program puts emphasis on the management aspects as well as law too. The course structures have moot court sessions, internships, assignments, classroom studies, and more

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is feasible to afford for the five-year course as it costs me around 1.23 lakhs INR which includes admission fees, tuition fees, etc. the college provides fee rebate to SC/ST and OBC category students.

Campus Life

There are many functions and festivals held. There is Saraswati puja done in college premises. There is the celebration of foundation day on 1st of March every year. Independence day, Freshers typically in September or November. There are books , journals, magazines related to law and AIR books on earlier cases available for students. We have a moot court where we have projector facilities available. Canteen facilities and water cooler are available. Classes are equipped with fans and lights with ample ventilation. There are sports and extracurricular activities held throughout the year and especially during college week. We have a strong student union body which caters to the necessary needs of the students.

The admission to the college depends on the marks you’ve scored in your school. The student should have scored 45% of marks to enroll in the college. The college has seats reserved for SC/ST and OBC category students

The faculties are extremely educated and updated with all laws and amendments and educate us accordingly. They also assist with us our doubts and provide us the task to enhance our skills and learn more. The guest lectures are a great source of learning. My academic experience at University Law College, Gauhati University

Likes

The faculty of this college contains teacher with very strong academic background. The faculty consists of 5 Assistant Professors and 15 Teaching Associates and their dedication and availability towards students is commendable.
The campus is situated within the Gauhati University Campus which makes it a great place to live in. The facilities provided by the campus includes the Moot Court Hall, the Gauhati University Stadium, the BKB Auditorium and bunch of hostel options.
The course provided by ULC GU covers a wide range of legal subjects which also includes the knowledge of certain State Laws of Assam. The academic course is very beneficial for in depth knowledge in every aspect of law.

Dislikes

The only part which I dislike about the college is the lack of a placement cell. But the alumni base of the college is very strong which definitely is very beneficial for the students passing out of this place to seek jobs as a fresher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The ULC, GU being one of the premier law colleges in the North Ease of India, I chose this college because of the course structure which prepares students to make a law career for themselves along with the faculty from various esteemed colleges of India which includes the likes of University of Goa, Government Law College, Gauhati etc. The college helps students seek internships with various legal professsionals which prepares the students not only accademically but also the face the practical legal world after college. The courese need no specific improvement but the availibility of a placement cell would had been a great addition to thish college. The exams are conducted half yearly which rigorously tests the students legal knowledge in every aspect.

Remarks:

It is human tendency that we always look for something better, but in NLUJA things seem to be growing at the right pace. Instead of looking for a better management, I think the students' participation and enthusiasm must be encouraged. A college/university is only what the students make it, and it cannot grow until and unless the students take an initiative.

Remarks:

Its that the college mostly needs money in every matter which is kind of disturbing,but has a good library for books reference,but the lending of books could be increased.

Honest Review from University Topper

Remarks:

I was a part of this college for 5 years and I know this college well. This college should have an auditorium for conducting seminars and there should be College week so that the students can take part in various competitions. Moreover the library has insufficient books and most of them are outdated as new editions of those books are available in market. There are very limited books. Library doesn't have Manupatra, SSC online etc.and the computers are outdated. The administration is average they fail to respond well at times. The best thing about this college is that it secures 1st position in University results.

I applied to Darrang college, Sonitpur and also in LOKD college, Sonitpur. The admission was confirmed there but as this college's admission process was faster and since its reputed , i chose this. No, i didn't get a rejected by any colleges. I just gave more preference to this college. The admission process and counciling is done on a offline basis. There is a computer based test for the entrance examination during my admission. The eligibility criteria is to have 45% aggregate for admission is BA.L.L.B.
