Remarks
It is human tendency that we always look for something better, but in NLUJA things seem to be growing at the right pace. Instead of looking for a better management, I think the students' participation and enthusiasm must be encouraged. A college/university is only what the students make it, and it cannot grow until and unless the students take an initiative.
Entrance Preview
I took CLAT, I don't remember how much I scored, but I got in through the domicile category. It was one of the toughest papers of CLAT till date.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course covers all necessary law subjects. The most important thing is that it includes basic subjects like legal methodology right in the first semester so that students can write research papers on their own. Even the variety of specialisation subjects from the 4th year is diverse hence there are a lot of options.
Internships Opportunities
The college only helps with providing a recommendation letter, the rest is an initiative of the students. However things are changing since a new internship coordination Committee (student run) was established in the past academic session.
Placement Experience
The college is still developing in that phase since it is still a new College to be judged on that criteria. Yes, the placement and job opportunities have been increasing. From PSUs to leading law firms of the country, the students from this college are going places.
College Events
The college has a lot of intra students events such as lectures, debates, quizzes, etc. The college has hosted two major inter college events - first is ADUJ which was a literary and cultural fest conducted with more than 10 events, and the second was Abhiveera which was a full fledged sports fest which saw participation from many different colleges.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for the first year is ?2,15,000 and from the next year onwards it is ?1,76,500. Though the fees is pricy and may seem more than what a few other NLUs charge, it is only feasible according to the rates of commodities in the NE (which according to my observation is more than mainstream India).
Fees and Financial Aid
Sorry, I do not have any knowledge in this regard, however I am aware that a significant number of students study here having taken a loan.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is a little unbalanced, but the college cannot be blamed for that since they anyway have to follow a systematic way of allotment of seats on the basis is ranks secured by those who have appeared in the exam. The culture of extra curricular activities is good in the college and there is always help and support when one needs it. Be it literary or sports activities, one can always take part in their field of interest. There are people from different castes and religions in the college, and everyone bonds well.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is amazing and the infrastructure and rooms are one of the best. Hostel rooms are not usually this well designed (in terms of th interiors). All necessary facilities are provided in the hostel. The mess food is average and just what one expects from a "mess".
Alumni/Alumna
Our alumnus is growing and spreading across the country day by day. They are helpful in terms of internships and other help regarding idea and opportunities. Some of the seniors have even helped with figuring out moot problem issues and finding resources for work.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is one of the best since it is not only about bookish knowledge and the pressure is also divided. There is a mid term of 20 marks, end term of 50 marks, project for 20 marks, project presentation/viva for 5 marks and attendance marks of 5.
Admission
Lists are published in rounds after the results of the test are declared. If you name is in the list, you pay the admission fees and documents and get yourself enrolled for the course. The college has an administration that takes care of the admission process for the students.
Faculty
The faculty in the college is really good. Some are very disciplined and all of them are very helpful, not just with academics, but also with extra curricular activities like research papers, moots, etc. They're always there for any kind of guidance, if not through the phone, they're always available on mail.
