Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is relevant to some extent but also includes several topics that are outdated. The college follows the same curriculum are other DU colleges. One thing is that the syllabus is too vast compared to the semester duration, so often teachers are unable to cover it in class. The finance syllabus is closely linked to the CFA syllabus so that is an added advantage.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are offered by the college, and companies like Deutche Bank, KPMG, Deloitte, BOFA, visit the campus. Last year, the highest package was 35LPA and the average package was 13LPA. Usually the students are getting placed as Analysts in these firms. About 50% of the total students are able to secure placements. However, due to the college alumni network and brand name, everyone can secure a job externally as well. I am planning on giving CAT and securing admission to IIM to pursue MBA, as are many of my peers. Others are planning to do CA or UPSC.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our fees per year as general student is around 30K but it is increased about 10% every year approx. The exact fee paid for this year was 31280 INR. For other categories, it is about 28-29k annually. Up to full scholarship can also be availed through scholarship programs. There is also 'Earn while you learn program' on merit cum need basis

Campus Life

4

Our college fest, Crossroads is one of the best in DU circle and it is typically held in April-May. There are over 50 societies in the college which provides you ample opportunity to get engaged in student activities and also an active student council. The society culture is a bit obsessive and every student is engaged in one thing or the other. Hence, some find it toxic as well. The college library is automated with computer check in and check out with wide availability of all kinds of books( even fiction and philosophy). So extracurriculars can be done by joining the respective societies (Dramatics, Dance, Fine arts) and sports is managed by the sports committee. Trials are held for all sports for the freshers.

Admission

I had gotten admission in NMIMS, Symbiosis Pune, St. Xaviers Mumbai, St. Xaviers Kolkata. However, I chose SRCC because it is by far the best commerce college in India. It was my dream and my first choice and I was beyond happy when I got the Acceptance letter. The admission is done through the CUET-UG exam conducted by NTA. For B.com(H), we have to opt for the subjects Accountancy/Math, Economics, Business Studies, English. Each subject is for 200 marks so the total comes to 800. The cutoff is 780 for general category. Once scores are declared, colleges are allotted on basis of preference lists prepared during the DU counselling process.

Faculty

3.5

So the faculty is mostly very friendly and try their best to clear the concept. Specially, some highly qualified faculty like Ms. Rachna Jawa and Ms. Dipika Bansal are great guides and help you out with other things also apart from studies. Each subject includes 160 marks, out of which 90 are for the sem end exams and 70 are internal marks( with the faculty) Unfortunately most teachers are not liberal with these internal marks so you are engaged with activities, presentations, assignments and tests during the whole semester for these 70 marks. The end sem exams are medium difficulty.

Placement Experience:

Placements in my college are decent but not very high compared to North Campus colleges.Students usually become eligible for placements in the final year with decent cgpa and good skills. Some companies visit the campus for roles in sales, marketing, finance and HR. The average package is moderate and only a limited percentage of students get placed through campus. Many students prefer internships during college to gain experience and earn extra money. Some also plan for higher studies like MBA or prepare for competitive exams which I also do I personally plan to gain work experience first, earn some money and then go for higher studies. Overall, placements are average but hopefully they will increase in future.

Placements are quite well . Most of the students are placed with the average package of 4-5 LPA . Companies like KPMG , Deloitte, Pwc and many more come to college and offer students. And with the time the placement cell of the college also conduct an event regarding placement and intership which approaches around 200-250 companies to come and give an opportunity to our students.

The highest package of my college is 36 lakh per annum from bcom H programme. The placement is very nice from my collegem the average package is 6.7 lakh per annum and the median package is around 8 lakh per annum which is very good in my views. But if the students is not focusing in his academic then no college can give him placement, it's just a exception. The students become elegible for placements after 2nd year and before 3rd year basically they just got PPO that is preplacement offer. Bain & co. , de shaw , Accenture , oyo, Swiggy. I have a plan of Doing MBA after doing Bcom H form hansraj college
