Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Treating the patients lead me to choose this course. The theory and practical classes are given equal weightage. Hence it prepares us well for real life application. Workload is too much in this course. So I feel this is the major area for improvement in this curriculum. Exams occur once in every 15-20 days. It takes place for 3 hours.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internship is mainly for a year, at the end of your 4.5 years of college. You'll be posted in every department in the hospital for a year. Stipend for the interns is quite decent. Also there are workshops happening once in a while in the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

We're paying is 25.50 lakhs per year for 4years and 12.75 lakhs for rest of 0.5 year. At the end of the course we'll be paying 1.14cr(fees is not increasing). The fees is the same for all categories. If you are opting for hostel then you've to pay 75000 per year (excluding mess fees). Mess fees is around 4000-5000. You'll be paying 50000 as security deposit in the hostel as well as in the college.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus is decent here. Everything is almost available within the college campus. There's no club or student's union here. The infrastructure is quite old but they are improving it now. There's only one fest that occurs in a year. It's called 'yukhti'. Almost every book is available in the college library. The classes have centralised AC,speakers all around, CCTVs, smoke detectors and two large sized monitors for teaching purposes.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel is not that good. It's average. Food is also very average. Cleanliness is good in the mess as well as in the hostel. As of now a new hostel is being built. It'll be completed within 2 3 months. Hostel rooms are quite affordable. You've to pay 50000 while admission as security deposit.

Admission

Academics of this college is better than many of the other colleges. I've applied for Shri Shankaracharya medical College and hospital but due to some document related issues I couldn't make it to the college. Eligibility for the college is that you should've appeared in the NEET exam and you should atleast score qualifying marks(115 or more). Cutoff is around 250-320

Faculty

4.5

The faculties are experienced and helpful. The faculty to student ratio is around 1:15. They are very much approachable. There will be 4 to 5 internal assessments(IA). Also there will be formative assessments once in every 15-20 days. The total marks of IA per subject is 100. You'll get 2 long questions(15marks each), 10 short notes(5marks each) and 20 marks of MCQ (1marks each).

Other Applied Colleges

Raipur Institute of Medical Sciences - [RIMS] | Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

Campus is not that good. Patient flow is less.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.
